As a mental health advocate, Josh is passionate about advancing mental health reform and increasing mental health literacy in their communities. Feeding from this passion, Josh worked with Active Minds Western (AM), a USC-regulated mental health advocacy club, as the Education Commissioner this year. Josh decided to use the second half of the term in this role as a Community Engaged Learning (CEL) project as they recognized the value in academically structuring and critically assessing their progress toward increased mental health literacy at Western University.

For her CEL, Aman interned at WEB.ISOD.ES in London, Ontario, working on producing a documentary discussing the recent implementation of Basic Income by the Conservative Provincial government. Aman learned valuable research skills and communications skills while working on this project and was excited to work in politics.

After taking French 3140B: Rwanda: Culture, Society and Reconstruction herself in first year, Misha once again delved into the course this year as a Teacher's Assistant. In her final report and presentation, Misha reflects on the lessons she learned from the course, as well as how the experience has led her to pursue her passion through a highly competitive internship program with the Ontario Legislature and into Law School.

Devon founded The Art Education Program (AEP) started because of her interest in the transition into a post-secondary level of arts academics from a secondary school level. The AEP aims to ease the transition from high school into university by providing support to students interested in pursuing the visual arts. The outcome of the program became a lot more than a mentorship, but it became an opportunity for participants to critically engage with their own art practice, and professionalize their skills, and created a small community that fostered growth, creativity, and experimentation. In February 2016, Diyana co-founded ICONOCLAST with five of her good friends from the School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities (SASAH): Sama Al-Zanoon, Nara Monteiro, Emma Cohen, and Emily Wood.
