He describes his work at an unnamed location constructing a galley, mess hall and housing, and the hauling of building materials up a hillside using a cable car system called a “kah-vall-ee.” Includes another soldier’s whimsical story about mishaps with the contraption, titled “Kah-vall-ee: The First in a Series of Battery ‘L’ Incidents.”
