Lack of resources and of the opportunity to produce drafts often leaves EFL learners at a disadvantage during writing tests. This paper reports on a study exploring the effects of provided facilitative features and prescribed drafting in a computer-based writing test on test takers writing performance scores. Participants were one hundred forty-four Thai EFL undergraduate students being required to write argumentative essays. The study employs a two-bytwo factorial pretest posttest control group design. Data analyses included the use of the two-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests. Results suggest that these two factors could potentially be included …

Recently, portfolio assessment has become popular in language education as an alternative in language assessment, since it allows for the possibility of assessing various complex and important constructs in language learning, such as the progress and achievements of individual learners. It can, moreover, evaluate not only the growth of individuals but also the effectiveness of a particular course or program. This paper discusses concept of portfolio assessment, followed by the demonstration of the design, implementation, and assessment of two basic types of portfolios-process and product portfolios. The paper concludes with the application of portfolio assessment in course evaluation.

ในปัจจุบันหน่วยสร้าง es ในภาษาเยอรมันถือเป็นหน่วย สร้างหนึ่งที่สร้างปัญหาให้กับผู้เรียนชาวไทยอยู่หลายประการอัน เนื่องมาจากหน้าที่ทางไวยากรณ์อันหลากหลายของหน่วยสร้างนี้เอง รวมไปถึงหน้าที่บางหน้าที่ที่ไม่ปรากฏหรือเทียบเคียงกับภาษาไทย ได้เลย อีกทั้งในชั้นเรียนภาษาเยอรมันในประเทศไทยหน่วยสร้างนี้ มักไม่ถือเป็นประเด็นสำคัญและถูกละเลยในที่สุด ส่งผลให้ผู้เรียน ภาษาเยอรมันชาวไทยยังประสบปัญหากับการใช้หน่วยสร้างนี้อยู่ บทความนี้จึงมุ่งอธิบายหน้าที่ทางไวยากรณ์ของหน่วยสร้างนี้เพื่อ ศึกษาหาหน่วยเทียบเคียงที่เป็นไปได้ของแต่ละหน้าที่ทางไวยากรณ์ ของหน่วยสร้าง es ในภาษาไทยเพื่อช่วยให้ผู้เรียนเข้าใจหน้าที่และ ความหมายของหน่วยสร้างนี้ได้ง่ายขึ้น นอกจากการที่ผู้เรียนภาษาเยอรมันชาวไทยยึดติดอย่างผิด ๆ กับความคิดที่ว่าหน่วยสร้าง es มีหน้าที่เป็นได้เพียงคำสรรพนามแล้ว อีกสาเหตุหนึ่งที่ทำให้มีการใช้หน่วยสร้าง es อย่างผิดๆ ของผู้เรียนก็คือความแตกต่างของระบบไวยากรณ์ภาษาเยอรมันและ ภาษาไทย ทั้งสองมาจากตระกูลภาษาที่ต่างกันย่อมมีโครงสร้างหรือ ลักษณะทางไวยากรณ์บางประการที่ไม่เหมือนกันหรือไม่อาจ เทียบเคียงกันได้เลย ด้วยเหตุนี้ผู้เรียนบางกลุ่มที่ยังคุ้นชินกับการ "คิดเป็นภาษาไทย" จะประสบปัญหาได้ในบางครั้ง

บทความวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายศึกษามาตรฐานและคุณภาพของแบบเรียนหลวงเรื่อง Ladder of Knowledge ที่ใช้สอนภาษาอังกฤษแก่ นักเรียนไทยในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวอันเป็นยุคปฏิรูปการศึกษา ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้บริหารการศึกษายุคปฏิรูปการศึกษามีแนวคิดสำคัญว่านักเรียนไทยควรมีความรู้ภาษาไทยอย่างแม่นยำเสียก่อน ก่อนที่จะเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ จึงเป็น เหตุผลให้เริ่มสอนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับมัธยมศึกษา แบบเรียนนี้เน้น การเรียนให้เกิด 5 ทักษะ ได้แก่ ไวยากรณ์ การอ่าน การเขียน การพูด และการแปลโดยคำสั่งในแต่ละแบบฝึกหัดจะบอกอย่างชัดเจนว่าฝึก ทักษะใดบ้างเพื่อให้ผู้เรียนเกิดทักษะทั้ง 5 และบ่งชี้การใช้กลวิธีการ ซ้ำ (repetition) โดยสังเกตจากการให้ทำแบบฝึกหัดซำๆ เพื่อให้ผู้เริ่ม เรียนภาษาอังกฤษได้คิด สังเกต เปรียบเทียบประโยคภาษาไทยกับ ภาษาอังกฤษ และเรียนรู้จดจำตามลำดับ

บทความนี้ได้อธิบายความมายที่หลากหลายของ hào ในภาษาจีนกลาง โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อให้ผู้เรียนเข้าใจและแยกแยะ ความหมายพร้อมทั้งแปล hào ในแต่ละปริบทได้อย่างถูกต้อง เหมาะสม ในบทความนี้ได้ยกตัวอย่างลักษณะทางไวยากรณ์และ ความหมายของ hào พร้อมทั้งแปลเป็นภาษาไทย เพื่อให้ผู้เรียน สามารถวิเคราะห์ลักษณะทางไวยากรณ์และเข้าใจความหมายของ hào ได้ดียิ่งขึ้น

ในประเทศไทยมีการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันมานานกว่า 80 ปีแล้ว แต่ยังไม่มีการรวบรวม วิเคราะห์และสรุปให้เห็น พัฒนาการของการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันในประเทศไทยอย่างเป็นระบบและต่อเนื่อง บทความวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก 2 ประการคือ ประการแรก เพื่อรวบรวม วิเคราะห์ และสรุปให้เห็น พัฒนาการของการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันในประเทศไทยทั้งใน ระดับโรงเรียนและระดับมหาวิทยาลัยตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน เริ่ม จากประวัติ กระบวนการเรียนการสอน หลักสูตร การพัฒนาสื่อการ สอน การผลิตบุคลากรผู้สอนและผู้เรียน ทัศนคติและความคาดหวัง ของผู้เรียนและผู้สอน ผลงานวิจัยเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมัน นอกจากนี้ยังศึกษาเกี่ยวกับองค์กรและหน่วยงานทั้งในและต่างประเทศที่ให้ความช่วยเหลือและสนับสนุนการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันในประเทศไทย วัตถุประสงค์ประการที่สองคือเพื่อชี้ให้เห็นถึงอุปสรรคและปัญหาของการเรียนการสอน ภาษาเยอรมันในอนาคต กล่าวคือ ปัญหาที่ว่า ใครเป็นผู้กำหนด นโยบายการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันหรือภาษาต่างประเทศในประเทศไทย โดยชี้ให้เห็นปัญหาที่เกิดจากความเข้าใจหรือการตีความที่แตกต่างกันในเรื่องการเน้นผู้เรียนเป็นศูนย์กลางใน พระราชบัญญัติปฏิรูปการศึกษาของไทยในปัจจุบันที่ส่งผลกระทบ ทางอ้อมต่อการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันในด้านการกำหนดเป้าหมายและการปรับปรุงการเรียนการสอน ผู้เขียนวิเคราะห์ให้เห็นแนวทางว่าประเทศไทยควรส่งเสริมการเรียนภาษาต่างประเทศโดยพิจารณาจากปัจจัยใด และเรียกร้องให้มีหน่วยงานกลางที่รับผิดชอบในการกําหนดนโยบายของรัฐว่าด้วยการสอนภาษาต่างประเทศในประเทศไทยเพื่อกําหนดทิศทางและแผนงานที่แน่นอนและแจ่มชัดเกี่ยวกับการเรียนการสอนภาษาเยอรมันหรือภาษาต่างประเทศอื่นๆในประเทศไทย ทั้งนี้ เพื่อไม่ให้การเรียนการสอนภาษาต่างประเทศ ในประเทศไทยเกิดความสูญเปล่า

การเรียนภาษาเป็นพื้นฐานที่ดีของการศึกษาวิทยาการต่างๆ งานด้านการศึกษาภาษาญี่ปุ่นในประเทศไทยจัดว่าประสบ ผลสำเร็จพอสมควรและได้รับการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นอย่าง ต่อเนื่องทั้งจากเจแปนฟาวน์เดชั่น Japan International Agency (JICA) และกระทรวงศึกษาและวิทยาศาสตร์ การศึกษาภาษาญี่ปุ่นเริ่มภายหลังการศึกษาภาษาฝรั่งเศส และเยอรมัน แต่สภาพโลกปัจจุบัน ฝรั่งเศสและเยอรมันมีบทบาท ลดลงอย่างมากในเอเชีย อีกทั้งประเทศญี่ปุ่นมีระยะทางใกล้กว่า การศึกษาภาษาญี่ปุ่นจึงเจริญขึ้นอย่างมาก ปัจจุบันมีผู้สอบเข้า มหาวิทยาลัยเลือกวิชาภาษาญี่ปุ่นมากกว่าภาษาเยอรมัน การ ปรับปรุงคุณภาพของการศึกษาภาษาที่มีความต้องการทางสังคมสูง จึงเป็นสิ่งที่จำเป็นอย่างยิ่ง

การสอนไวยากรณ์แบบประเพณีนิยมคือ การสอนไวยากรณ์ แบบที่ผู้สอนเป็นศูนย์กลาง โดยผู้สอนจะเป็นผู้กําหนดหัวข้อ ไวยากรณ์ ให้ความรู้ทางไวยากรณ์ และประเมินความรู้ ความสามารถทางไวยากรณ์ของผู้เรียน อย่างไรก็ตาม การสอนใน ลักษณะนี้อาจจะไม่มีประสิทธิภาพเพียงพอเนื่องจาก ไม่ได้คำนึงถึง กระบวนการเรียนรู้ภาษาที่สองอย่างแท้จริง ดังที่ Ruthford (1988) กล่าวไว้ว่า "การเรียนรู้ภาษาที่สองมิใช่กระบวนการสะสมสิ่งที่มีอยู่ (เช่นความรู้)" บทความนี้เป็นการรายงานวิธีการสอนไวยากรณ์ชั้นกลางแบบให้ผู้เรียนเป็นศูนย์กลางโดยใช้ความคิดของ (1) focus on form (2) การเขียนบันทึกและการทำแฟ้มสะสมงาน โดยผู้สอนจะให้ ผู้เรียนทํากิจกรรมก่อน แล้วให้ผู้เรียนหาข้อผิดทางไวยากรณ์ด้วย ตนเอง ก่อนที่จะไปหาข้อผิดของเพื่อนในกลุ่มย่อยที่จัดขึ้น หลังจาก นั้นผู้สอนจึงกำหนดหัวข้อไวยากรณ์โดยอ้างอิงจากลักษณะความผิด ของผู้เรียน แล้วจึงอธิบายไวยากรณ์ในที่สุด นอกจากนี้ผู้เรียนจะต้อง เขียนบันทึกการเรียนรู้และทําแฟ้มสะสมงานเพื่อฝึกหันกลับไปมอง และจดบันทึกกระบวนการเรียนรู้ของตน บทความนี้ยังได้ทำการสำรวจความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียนโดยใช้แบบสอบถามและพบว่าผู้เรียนส่วนใหญ่พอใจ อย่างไรก็ตามผลของแบบสอบถามทำให้ทราบ ว่ายังมีปัญหาที่ต้องคำนึงอยู่ด้วย

การเรียนการสอนภาษาจีนในประเทศมีประวัติความเป็นมา ตั้งแต่สมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช ที่มีโรงเรียนจีนแห่งแรกในจังหวัดอยุธยา จนถึงช่วงกลางพุทธศตวรรษที่ 25 ซึ่งเป็นช่วงเวลาที่โรงเรียนจีนขยายตัวอย่างมาก หลังจากนั้น สถานการณ์ทางการเมืองทั้งในและนอกประเทศทําให้โรงเรียนจีนถูก ควบคุมอย่างเข้มงวด เมื่อสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ยุติลง โรงเรียนจีนในประเทศไทยก็ มีพัฒนาการทั้งในด้านขึ้นและลงตามปัจจัยทางการเมืองในแต่ละช่วงเวลา จน พ.ศ. 2535 เมื่อกระทรวงศึกษาธิการมีประกาศให้ ภาษาจีนกลางมีสถานะเท่ากับภาษาอังกฤษ และภาษาต่างประเทศ อื่น ๆ ที่สอนอยู่ในโรงเรียนไทยทั่วไป ตั้งแต่นั้นการศึกษาภาษาจีนใน ประเทศไทยก็ได้รับความนิยมมากขึ้นรองจากภาษาอังกฤษ และมี การเรียนการสอนในทุกระดับตั้งแต่ระดับอนุบาลจนถึงระดับอุดมศึกษา

This paper presents a literary discourse analysis of a short story by an American humorist following Austin's Speech Act Theory as refined by John R. Searle and further elaborated by Brown and Levinson (1999). The text was found to be organized in the typical five-point (abstract, orientation, complicating action, evaluation, and resolution) format expounded by Labov (1972) and Traugott and Pratt (1980). The role of characters in the text was also analyzed and discussed using Fillmore's (1968) Case Grammar as further developed by Grimshaw (1990), among others. This study aimed to investigate (1) the relationships between three selected variables (formal content study, English language attainment, and overall academic achievement) and performance in the Reading Test of English for Consumer Product Marketing (RT-ECPM), (2) the extent to which the three variables can predict the RT-ECPM scores, and (3) the test takers' attitudes towards the test. The two research instruments employed were the RT-ECPM and an attitude questionnaire for test takers. The subjects were 133 fourth-year university students from the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy majoring in Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University. บทความเรื่องนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อสํารวจและศึกษาถึงองค์ความรู้ด้านอิหร่านศึกษา (Iranian Studies) ซึ่งมีอยู่ในสังคมไทยตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน วิเคราะห์ถึงประเด็นปัญหาและข้อจำกัดเกี่ยวกับการวิจัยด้านอิหร่านศึกษา ตลอดจนเสนอตัวอย่างและแนวทางการสร้างงานวิจัยด้านอิหร่านศึกษาอันจะเป็นรากฐานพัฒนาความรู้ด้านนี้ในประเทศไทย จากการศึกษาพบว่าสังคมไทยในอดีตมีความรู้เกี่ยวกับอิหร่านศึกษาโดยผ่านทางปฏิสัมพันธ์ ระหว่างคนไทยกับชนเชื้อชาติอิหร่านที่เดินทางเข้ามาสู่สยามตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยา ความรู้ดังกล่าวผ่านจากชาวอิหร่านไปยังชนชั้นนำก่อนจะแพร่หลายสู่สังคมทั่วไป องค์ความรู้นี้ปรากฏในรูปแบบต่างๆทั้งด้านภาษา ศิลปวัฒนธรรม และ วิทยาการแขนงต่าง ๆ ชนชั้นนำไทยยังได้ปรับเอาความรู้ดังกล่าวมาใช้ ประโยชน์ในการปกครอง ด้านวัฒนธรรม และอื่นๆ ความรู้ด้านอิหร่านศึกษา ซบเซาลงในช่วงที่สังคมไทยหันไปรับวิทยาการความเจริญจากโลกตะวันตก ตั้งแต่สมัย รัชกาลที่ 4 เป็นต้นมา กระทั่งถึง พ.ศ. 2519 ตัวแทนรัฐบาล ประเทศไทยและอิหร่านได้ลงนามร่วมกันในสัญญาข้อตกลงระหว่างประเทศ สำหรับการแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมเพื่อกระชับความสัมพันธ์และพัฒนาความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรม และสังคม อย่างไรก็ตาม ความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษาและการสร้างองค์ความรู้ระหว่างสองประเทศยังมี อยู่อย่างจำกัด แต่หลังการปฏิวัติอิสลามอิหร่าน พ.ศ. 2522 และประเทศ สาธารณรัฐอิสลามอิหร่านเข้าสู่ภาวะมีเสถียรภาพแล้ว จึงได้มีการจัดตั้ง "องค์การวัฒนธรรมและอิสลามสัมพันธ์" (Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) ) เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2537 เพื่อดําเนินการส่งเสริมและเผยแพร่ ความรู้ด้านต่างๆเกี่ยวกับประเทศอิหร่าน ทําให้องค์ความรู้ด้านอิหร่านศึกษา ได้รับการส่งเสริมและเผยแพร่ในประเทศไทยมากขึ้น

The present article is a study of the use of the People Research and Development Method as a means of promoting local wisdom, environmental protection, and community development in Tambon Bangkhunsai, Phetchaburi Province, Thailand. This method allowed the community to do their own research and to utilize their local wisdom as a form of untapped capital on which self-reliance can be built. Research findings indicated that the People Research and Development method could stimulate local wisdom to protect the environmental and develop the community in a number of ways. Although sex is considered something private and personal, telling sexual stories is by no means a personal matter. The difficulty faced by sexual abuse victims who want to tell their stories is due to the ways in which the meanings of sexual abuse, the abuser and the victim are discursively constructed by the dominant culture. In addition to the arbitrary invention of words in human language, there are also a number of lexical items in languages generated from the symbolization of particular groups of sounds. The present study investigates the structural and semantic characteristics of "sound-symbolic words" (or onomatopoeic words) in Thai. Data were drawn from formal and informal written documents. The Royal Institute''''s and Matichon''''s dictionaries were used as representatives of formal documents, while 40 Japanese-to-Thai translated comics were used for the informal documents. This paper reports on the progress of Thai National Corpus development. The TNC is designed as a general corpus of standard Thai. Only written texts are collected in the first phase. It aims to include at least eighty million words. Various text types produced by various authors are included in the TNC so that it would closely represent written language in general. Texts are word segmented and tagged following the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) guidelines on text encoding. The fact that a lexical item has semantic variations when combined with other linguistic elements is a central issue in lexical semantics.
