A musical review exploring life during the Depression, World War II and the Post-War Boom era through the jazz, blues and bebop music innovations of that time. The review samples the works of artists like Hoagie Carmichael, Frank Loesser, Duke Ellington and The Gershwins to explore what life was like in a two act extravaganza.

The “Style” show is a collection of performances by senior students to showcase their individual talent. Over the years the “Style” show has brought pleasure to our audiences and valuable experience to the cast and crew and this year is no exception.

Our theme for “Style 97” is built on memories. Memories of “the songs of our lives”, and along with the songs come the reminiscences of good times.

A comedy about substituting the greatest tenor of his generation, Il Stupendo, in the 1934 Cleveland Grand Opera Company production of Otello with the assistant general manager. The star is inadvertently rendered unconscious and the assistant general manager steps up to save the performance. The opera is a success with the substitute star but the comedic tension intensifies as Il Stupendo regains consciousness and prepares to stage his performance.

The action takes place in a hotel suite in Cleveland, Ohio in 1934.

Catch a Rising Star showcased the 3rd year Performance Critiques and the 2nd year Dance Critiques, as a true collaboration of creativity. As part of their curriculum, each student was assigned the task of creating a showcase for their singing and dancing talents. For Catch a Rising Star, the Directors have taken the best of the best and created this extraordinary unique show, full of diverse musical styles and dances. Providing a showcase for the talents of some of Canada's most promising performers has become a tradition with Sheridan’s Music Theatre Department.

A coming-of-age musical based on the 1982 motion picture, My Favorite Year, written by Dennis Palumbo and the screenplay adaptation by Norman Steinberg and Dennis Palumbo. Set in 1954, a young TV writer working on a hit comedy show is given the opportunity to chaperone his childhood TV idol and discovers the real person.
