From the beginning of human civilization, various levels of society have been clearly stratified. Larger, stronger groups, those with more resources and might, have been able to wield power over the alternate side of the spectrum. In modern society, we are able to see this through institutionalized crime. Through this research, the Chilean dictatorship in the late twentieth century will be analyzed from society’s literary and cinematic response.
