The purpose of this paper· is to examine the New Testament teaching of the Kingdom of God and analyze, with limitations the development of' the concept of the Kingdom in American Protestant theology. In our quest for an understanding of the problems raised by an investigation of American theological utterances concerning the Kingdom of God, we have turned first of all, to the New Testament presentation of the Kingdom of God.
