The Lutheran Education Association assumed the task of compiling a bibliography of research studies in religious education to fill the need for such a catalogue. The bibliography, consisting of classified abstracts with index, was compiled especially with the needs of educators of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod in mind. It should be suggestive for future research studies in religious education and should serve to prevent duplication of effort as well as to suggest areas of study not previously covered or covered inadequately.

The purpose of this study was to determine in what amount the use of the Bible was recommended for the upper five grades of Lutheran elementary schools, how it was taught, and how the situation could be improved, where needed, both in furthering the amount of Bible usage and in improving the methods employed.

The name of Karl G. Maeser will long be remembered among the people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of his influence on the present system of education within the church. A Statement On Parents' Rights And The School Question, A. C. Mueller

The United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and the National Lutheran Council invited educators and theologians of the United States, Germany, and other European countries to a study conference (June 1-10 at Bad Boll, Germany) on parents' rights and the school in the modern state. This was the first of four study conferences, and when the Germans set apart the entire conference for the study of Christian education and its current problems, they indicated how vital this problem is in Germany today. The findings of this seminar were summarized in the statement which is herewith submitted.
