An Examination Of The Constituent Elements Of Human Nature, Paul R. Lund May 1966

An Examination Of The Constituent Elements Of Human Nature, Paul R. Lund

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Excerpt: "An age-old problem still facing the church and one which still finds advocates on both sides in modern evangelical thought is the question as to whether man consists of body, soul and spirit or only of body and spirit (or soul). The former position would insist that the constituent elements of man' s nature are three and that there is some essential distinction between the Biblical terms "soul" and "spirit" . The latter position insists that there are only two distinct elements in man's nature and that there is no essential distinction (although many would admit a functional distinction) …

An Inquiry Into The Religious Experience Of The Godly Hebrew In The Old Testament, Dean C. Gonnerman

It has been the conviction of this writer as he has worked in Japanese evangelism as a crusader of the Oriental Missionary Society campaign in Japan, and later as a student pastor in a small church, that any measure of evangelical success comes …

A Review Of Major Administrative Principles And Management Problems In The Local Church, Miles H. Barber

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The local pastor today is being requested by his people to assume a growing number of responsibilities. By the very nature of -the minister's present task he is called upon to be a teacher, business man, spiritual leader, gifted speaker, competent administrator, public relations man, counselor and scholar. This is in addition to being a good husband, father and neighbor. It is this increasing demand upon the pastor that has prompted this study. With many tasks to do and limited time for each responsibility, pastors are expected to make efficient operations of their programs with the time they do have. …
