The purpose of this study is to deal with some of the problems relevant to this broad, prophetic idea. This involves concerning ourselves, with the origin of the idea, and the form it took in the prophetic mind. As a result, we have devoted the first chapter to an investigation of certain problems connected with the origin and background of the idea. In the second and third chapters, our concern is with the concept as it unfolds itself in the prophetic books.
