Simply Butter (one pat at a time) is an investigation of food and intimacy through sculpture, installation, performance, printmaking, and recordkeeping. In this series of Happenings, I explore themes of love, loss, and empathy while dealing with emotions related to grief and mental health issues. I look to cultural phenomena and art history figures who are concerned with similar sentiments to make conceptual connections and inform my choices when creating this project. The Pathology And Etiology Of Philosophy, Lydia Tucke

While much time is spent theorizing about philosophical concepts and theories, little thought has been given to the philosophy and psychology of philosophy itself. I argue that philosophy (or the act of philosophizing) should be considered a form of anxiety. I will examine whether or not philosophy should be evaluated as a mental disorder as well. Finally, I will explore the ways in which one can cope with the anxiety seen in philosophizing.

Taste in music varies across individuals and cultures, but it is a singular, uniting aspect of society. Music creates connections and meaning that would be lost if the first string of an instrument had not been heard. Creativity is sparked with music which adds to the artistry of cultures and other forms of art.

Marianismo And Mental Health: A Cross-Sectional Study On Latina Perspectives, Sara Tilisky

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the correlational relationships between help seeking attitudes, marianismo, and mental health symptoms in a sample of Latinas. Marianismo is a Latina-specific value system based on the idea that women are to be self-sacrificing, chaste, and family oriented. Data from self-identified Latinas (N=77) were used to determine how degrees of adherence to marianista values correlate with various mental health symptoms and reported instances of professional help seeking attitudes. Results yielded a weak positive relationship between adherence to marianismo-like values and prevalence of mental health symptoms, and no relationship between adherence to …
