This collection consists of one scrapbook, containing clippings of images from magazines and newspapers of trains and photographs of trains, with photographs being in the significant minority. A note near the front of the scrapbook says it was created by Rawson and Paige Birdwell for the period 1926-1950.

Photos taken by Thomas Jefferson Morgan (1878-1946). Morgan was a native of Putnam County, West Virginia and a Morgantown, W. Va. commercial photographer. This collection includes both film and glass plate negatives from his studio.
