Heidi Parker is a 47-year-old lesbian, who uses she/her pronouns. Heidi Parker grew up in the South and Seventh-Day Adventist. One of her favorite parts about living in the South and still one of her favorite things today is the mountains. Heidi Parker has moved to a few places around the United States; including New York, Maine, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Morrow Beach. Heidi Parker worked as a PE teacher before getting a higher degree in Sports Management. After getting her degree, she moved to New York and worked at Syracuse and then moved to Maine to work …

Jeanusnat’s father, who was chief of a Nigerian community, was murdered by an enemy community. The murderer intended to kill Jeanusnat and his mother as well, but they fled to neighboring Niger. There, Jeanusnat parted ways with his mother, who stayed at the church with a family, and Jeanusnat crossed into Libya in the back of a truck. But once in Libya, danger persisted. He was confronted by some robbers who stabbed him with a knife and beat him, leaving injuries on his legs and shoulder. This collection includes an interview with Arnetta Gladden Mackey (1948-2009) who, along with Delores Johnson Hurt, was one of the first two undergraduate students admitted to Winthrop in 1964. She graduated from Winthrop in 1967. Mrs. Mackey discusses her childhood and family, her feelings about attending college, receiving her scholarship to Winthrop, and her feelings about attending an all-white school. She also describes her experience living in the dorm, Rat Week, her social life, her experience with her white peers, and her experience with academics.
