Prince Rogers Nelson (born: June 7, 1958) was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He was a musical innovator and known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, extravagant dress and makeup, and wide vocal range. When he passed unexpectedly on April 21, 2016, he had built an immensely successful career that spanned over 30 years. Although Prince is widely known for his highly sexual behavior, we know less about his spiritual beliefs as well as how these beliefs influenced his public persona and private life. This report offers visual costume research support for artists working on Book of Mormon projects, with an historical overview of Mesoamerica and how to understand its historical clothing pieces, an annotated listing of the best research sources, a list of garment and fabric terms for the 2000 BC to 600 AD period, and sample sketches from historical artifacts to suggest how to interpret the original research images the artist will encounter.

As as a general indicator of developing religious sensibilities in American culture, the New Age bears continued Christian interest. It remains, at the very least, a very important resource for understanding trends in American culture and for identifying opportunities for Christian theology and mission. Among these opportunities that New Age movements provide for Christian theology and mission is the opportunity to address religious and metaphysical questions which for many years have been of little interest to a general audience. These metaphysical questions include popular discussion of cosmology, ontology, God, the soul, free will, and a renewed interest in religious experience.
