Feminist Friendship As An Affective Engagement Through The Arts: A Decolonial And Posthuman Becoming-With Rebeca Lane's Alma Mestiza, Miguel Ángel Blanco Martínez, Paola Mendoza Téllez-Girón

This paper considers friendship as an affective terrain of feminist alliance among subjects that belong to territories with a colonial record responding to the colonial/modern gender system (Lugones 2007) through the arts. Friendship is here conceptualized as an engagement of feminist solidarity unfolding within theoretical and practical models of change and resistance against the logics of cultural imperialism (Lugones and Spelman 1983). Turning friendship into a polyphonic feminist reaction, this work is conducted by acknowledging the need to foster dialogues where different authorial voices and feminist positionalities meet, reflect, and speak. En este estudio se explora el mantenimiento del gallego en las comunidades que emigraron a Latinoamérica en los siglos XIX y XX. Primero se contrastan las motivaciones de la comunidad gallega durante los periodos de emigración con el uso activo del gallego en varios centros culturales en las Américas. A continuación se analizan varios textos de la prensa gallega en La Habana y en Buenos Aires, y se comparan con revistas publicadas en los últimos años por centros gallegos en Buenos Aires y en México, DF. Nomenclatura: aproximaciones a los estudios hispánicos
En este trabajo se analizan dos cuentos de escritores mexicanos cuya obra, hasta hace relativamente poco, fue considerada marginal: “El jardín de las tumbas” de Amparo Dávila y “La noche de los cincuenta libros” de Francisco Tario. Como sustento teórico se retoman, en especial, las posturas de David Roas y Tzvetan Todorov, defensor y detractor respectivamente de la idea del miedo como esencial a lo fantástico. Six Poems On Sixteenth-Century Maps, Jeremy Dae Paden

Enclosed are seven poems that explore the topic of mapping. Six of these form part of a series of ekphrastic poems on sixteenth-century "mappa mundi." They use the trope of the "cosmographic heart" or the "cordiform map" to tell the story of early European and American contact. Four of them use actual sixteenth-century mappa mundi (Fineaus's cordiform map, Bunting's clover-leaf map, Hand an anonymous Flemish map that uses Ortellius's cordiform map as the face of a jester) as points of departure.
