This holistic approach to design acknowledges that a space's functionality and comfort are influenced by a multitude of factors beyond its visual appearance. For instance, designers now pay close attention to acoustics to ensure optimal sound quality within a space, creating environments conducive to communication and concentration. They also consider lighting design to enhance mood, productivity, and overall well-being, while ensuring energy efficiency. Additionally, designers address the thermal environment by optimizing insulation, ventilation, and heating/cooling systems to create comfortable indoor climates year-round.
