This is a second in a series of interviews with Dr. Robert D. Reece, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine in Society in the Wright State University School of Medicine. In this interview Dr. Reece continues his discussion of various aspects of the development of his department and of the School of Medicine.

In this first interview with Dr. William D. Sawyer, Dean of the Wright State University School of Medicine, Dean Sawyer discusses his background prior to coming to Wright State University. In particular, Dr. Sawyer's medical education; his internship and residency; his military service and service at Johns Hopkins University are examined.

In further discussions, Dean Sawyer turns to his experiences in Thailand as a member of the Rockefeller Foundation developing the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at Bangkok University. Dean Sawyer discusses the development process and its impact on his own leadership style.

This interview is with Dr. Richard DeWall, a prominent Dayton Cardio-thoracic surgeon. In this first interview Dr. DeWall discusses his background prior to coming to the Dayton area and his initial activities in the Cox Heart Institute and Kettering Memorial Hospital.
