This paper will be yet another attempt to understand what the historical Jesus may have meant when he spoke of the Kingdom. In particular I will be examining parables attributed to Jesus that are relevant to the idea of Kingdom. However before any exegesis can begin it is important to understand the history of scholarship on the topic.
