Includes data relating to Patrick's interest in lands in Texas once owned by Alamo defender Patrick Henry Herndon. Also includes a copy of the National Register of Historic Places nomination for Hurricane Hall.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 3266. Farm journal kept by Patrick Henry Thomson of Hurricane Hall, Fayette County, Kentucky. He records daily temperatures and farm operations, and makes occasional mention of his and wife Julia's activities. A loose item dated 10 November 1852 gives him notice of a meeting in regards to the recent fire at the county courthouse.

He welcomes news of Chipman’s family and describes his own domestic life, including his and his wife’s health and advancing age, her able household management, and the cost of his African-American servants, who appear to be slaves hired out by their owner.
