Collection contains administrative records of the Portland Central Labor Union. Included are minutes of meetings, 1914-1919, 1924-1925; correspondence, 1915-1938 with gaps; financial and membership information. Correspondence includes incoming letters to the union's secretary, many from the American Federation of Labor and the Maine State Federation of Labor as well as from unions affiliated with the Portland organization. Also contains copies of the secretary's outgoing correspondence.

The collection contains papers of Donaldson Koons of Sidney, Maine, focusing primarily on his work as Chair of the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) in 1973 and 1974. The LURC records concern both policy matters and day-to-day operations of the Commission. They involve activities to develop a comprehensive plan for land use and development, planning documents, legislation, correspondence, lawsuits involving the Commission, and documents outlining Koons' differences with the Commission's executive director at the time.
