The Campbell-Staats collection consists of two separate series of information. The first series is comprised of the Jennie Ratliff Campbell papers. These papers consist mainly of personal correspondence to Miss Ratliff dating from 1875-1888. The majority of these letter were from two particular individuals, R. G. Drysdale and W. S. Livengood, and concerned everyday occurrence and mutual acquaintances. The remainder of the series is made up of samples from her schoolwork, songs she had copied, business correspondence, and a book of poetry given to her by her fiancee, C. W. Campbell.

The Jefferson letter, sent in 1808 to Edgar Patterson of Georgetown College discusses Mr. Madison; written from Monticello.
The Washington letter is from Jan. 31, 1781 and is to an officer instructing him to permit a group of prisoners to proceed to Elizabeth Town [New Jersey], where they are to report to the Commissary of Prisoners, who will pass them on to New York for exchange.

The C. C. Henking Collection consists of land patents, deeds, titles, abstracts of titles, and indentures dating from 1795 to 1861. Also included are tax receipts, maps, notes and certificates. Many of the documents are in French. They are of particular interest to this region because all of the properties are located in what is now the state of West Virginia. The significant portion of the Irvin Dugan papers consists of original drawings that Mr. Dugan made during his career as the staff artist for the Huntington Publishing Company. The subject matter of the cartoons includes topics of national as well as local and regional interest; some representative subjects are the war bond drive during World War II, election campaigns, Disabled American Veterans, United Fund, and various athletic events.
