The Superindentent of Missions reflected on the changes in his ten years of service: Cleveland County's transition from agricultural to industrial, Vietnam War, affluence affecting attitude. He also gave hope for the coming decade. A proposal was made by the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, Inc. to add a home near Waynesville called the Broyhill Home. Gardner-Webb College reported its first junior class in the history of the college.
