In the early 1970s, a group of six evangelical women in Chicago began meeting. Their topic of conversation? The emerging secular movement of feminism and what it might mean in a Christian context. These discussions would eventually lead to the Daughters of Sarah, a mid-20th century American journal for the particular audience of Christian feminists. Daughters of Sarah published some of the earliest religious scholarship on the topic.

As part of the effort to inaugurate a new international socio-political order after World War II, international emphasis was given to certain moral and legal entitlements we have come to call human rights. Daily Maine Campus Survey Results: Student Not Offended By Sexist Language, Rhonda Morin

The majority of female students who responded to the recent Daily Maine Campus survey said they are not offended when sexist language is used in the classroom and they have not been the victims of sexual discrimination in class. Students from the departments of geology, forest biology, journalism, computer science, business, and philosophy participated in the survey.
