In 1973, Booker T. Washington became a pilot school for desegregation in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On April 10, 1973, Oral Roberts issued a statement in support of the "future of Washington High School" and the "voluntary efforts to integrate" the families of Tulsa. Roberts declared, "We all hope and pray that we all can get together and that is will be more than an experiment, it will be something living in the midst of all of us that demonstrates our real sincere feelings of brotherhood."

On May 29th, 1969, Oral Roberts was the commencement speaker for the 30th Graduation exercises for Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Roberts family children attended Tulsa Public Schools. The Principal of the school, Dr. Knight, was also a good friend of the family.

Roberts shared with graduates about the importance of relationship. He notes,

"We hear a lot about the generation gap and the gap between races or the gap between lasses, and after dealing with thousand of people face to face and hand to hand and looking at the thing seriously, I believe there is no …
