Présence Francophone: Revue internationale de langue et de littérature

This article proposes to explore the many faces of madness through a reading of Linda Lê’s Calomnies, in which two narrative voices are presented. The following shall demonstrate how this novel reproduces a “romantic” perception of madness as encountered in Michel Foucault’s work. Although this narrative text introduces a mad narrator speaking in the “I” persona, it nonetheless points out the difficulties of letting madness speak for itself. These difficulties are also examined in this study.

The poetry of Ono no Komachi can be read in many lights. The two ways in which I feel its message and context can be best appreciated are through feminine independence and masculine subjection. Ono no Komachi wrote poetry that was evocative of the feminine ideal of longing for a male, but she also wrote poetry which denigrated the need for a woman to rely on a male. 愛國反帝運動和新文化運動所引起的批評傳統、關心社會、強調民主思想和科學精神的思潮,一直被認為是五四傳統的基調。發展到三、四十年代,由於抗戰的影響,有「救亡」壓倒「啟蒙」的趨勢,而在1949年後,在兩岸三地中,香港正因為特殊的政治位置,成為言論相對自由的地帶。在這個直接政治干預相對較少的背景下,李晨風在五、六十年代主動改編多部五四傳統 的文學作品,繼承五四精神,實在值得深入研究。李晨風在的改編中, 藉著周蕙和高淑英的對比, 強調五四時期「個人」與「家庭」間的對立,以突出反傳統、反家庭的望題。至於的改編,李晨風在原有的戰爭背景下, 加強了對戰爭的控訴,使戰爭成為所有不幸事情的原兇。另外,又一改曾發生的形象,把她改寫成完美的媳婦,讓白燕保持一貫正面形象之餘,為新式女性在「經濟自主」與「家庭倫理」之間得到協調的空間。李晨風的改編電影,改寫了小翠的悲劇命運,比曹禺原著中對「希望」的暗示表露得更清楚。 其他改編五四時間流行的外國翻譯作品如托爾斯泰的著作,更能看到他對關懷社會的有一種執著。甚至其他並非直接與五四主題有關的電影作品中,亦可以見到李晨風批評軍閥、讚揚革命、追求個性自由的思想。

本論文研究一九二五至一九四九年間的香港新詩,即從目前所見最早的香港 新詩資料開始,直至一九四九年為止。研究從翻查和整理大量早期報刊、文學雜 誌等第一手資料開始,配合同時期中國新詩的發展,探討二○年代即香港新詩的 創始階段,至一九四九年的發展特色,思考香港新詩在中國現代文學史上的意義,並展開相關討論。

論文第一章先概述香港與內地新詩的連繫,再釐定本論文的研究範圍和香港新詩的定義,其中有關香港新詩的定義是參考上海現代文學史研究學者區分上海 作家和上海文學為兩個不同概念的做法,把「香港詩人」和「香港新詩」分屬不同範疇,並特別以「香港新詩」為討論重點。除了地域層面上的意義,本論文亦嘗試析論香港新詩相對於中國新詩的精神面貌和詩學取向。

第二至第九章基本上以時間發展為序,探討香港新詩不同時期的發展特色, 包括二○年代引介五四新詩及不同的詩形式,三○年代的都市詩、對上海《現代》 雜誌和現代派詩歌的學習和批評、寫實主義詩論的探討及創作,抗戰時期的論爭及不同取向、戰後的左翼詩歌等等,關注點除了特定時期的重要或主流風尚,也 仔細閱讀難以歸類的詩作,思考時代風尚與主流以外不同風格之間的關係。

早期香港新詩的發展除了本身特色,亦與大範圍內整個中國新詩的發展歷程密切相關,研究和討論早期香港新詩,除了「本土」的意義,也可以補充「中國現代文學史」論述的不足。相比一九五○年代以後的時期,早期香港新詩歷史的特色、亦即它複雜的地方,正在於它與中國新詩的關係。一九五○年後,新詩在 中國內地、台灣和香港各自發展,各有不同的面貌和取向,相對於三四○年代中 國新詩和當代中國和台灣新詩的研究,有關早期香港新詩的研究不算多,本論文 嘗試全面地回顧一個階段的香港新詩,提出討論的方向,期望有助進一步的研究。

In The New Woman in Early Twentieth-Century Chinese Fiction, Jin Feng proposes that representation of the "new woman" in Communist Chinese fiction of the earlier twentieth century was paradoxically one of the ways in which male writers of the era explored, negotiated, and laid claim to their own emerging identity as "modern" intellectuals. Gender differences in prevalence of HIV risk behaviors are well established. Gender differences in major causes leading to HN risk behaviors are much less researched in China. Using data from a large and population-based survey conducted in 2003, in southwestern China, this paper examined gender-specific correlates of HIV risky drug using and sexual behaviors in the general population. Both bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted for males and females separately. The results suggest that men are more likely to inject drugs and share needles than women while women are more likely to exhibit RN risk sexual behaviors than men. Socio-economic …

A quarter of a century ago William LaFleur published his book on Saigyō, Mirror for the Moon, which the present work, Awesome Nightfall: The Life, Times, and Poetry of Saigyō, thoughtfully and masterfully supersedes. In the first part of the book, "The Life and Times of Saigyō," the author succinctly incorporates many of these findings and relates Saigyo's poems both to historical events and to his personal life experience (pp. 1-70). The second half of the book contains LaFleur's translation of over 150 poems by Saigyō, all of which appear to be taken from his earlier book.

明人汪廷訥(生卒年尚無定論,估計大約生於萬曆年間)所著傳奇──《獅吼記》,是一個有關宋人陳季常與妻子柳月娥夫婦間的故事。這個故事所以為後人認識,全為柳氏之妒;然而這故事所以能在當時流行,卻全仗「妒」之反面──「療妒」。「妒」與「療妒」的故事在明朝所載甚多,1 卻以《獅吼記》最為有名。

《獅吼記》中的柳氏,代表了不甘服從男權社會的另類力量,她以不同的方式阻止丈夫狎妓遠遊,並希望透過禁錮來杜絕丈夫納妾的機會。雖然她最終回到中饋角色,成為傳統要求的賢德之婦,但這種另類的女性的精神價值,卻十分值得探討。

本文將從三部分分析《獅吼記》這個故事。第一部分將簡論有關妒婦的由來與定義。第二部分將嘗試探討有關「療妒」故事的出現與及特殊意義。第三部分將以《獅吼記》中的柳月娥作為研究對象,從故事中出現的療妒情節探討她的行為轉變,本文並不純粹採用「成長」的觀念,而是採用群體心理學來分析她的行為轉變,嘗試將療妒作一個更科學化的闡釋。最後將總結柳氏能成為妒婦代表人物的原因。

Claims that China is a ‘‘shame culture’’ tend to presume that guilt is the superior moral motivation. Such claims characterize guilt as internally motivated and operative even if no outsider is aware of any wrongdoing. By contrast, they assume that shame occurs only when someone is observed. The observer represents the moral opinion of an outsider, and, as a result, shame is said to be externally motivated. In this view, genuinely moral motivation is internal. Internality is seen as a requirement for moral autonomy (the ability to make decisions independent of particular social norms), and only guilt cultures are thought …

Piero Chiara (Luino 1913- Varese 1986) wrote many novels and short stories that immediately met great public success. Critics devoted mixed attention to him but his works deserve a new critical assessment to analyze the rich and sophisticated web of cultural and literary references that permeate them. Through readings of Il piatto piange, “L’uovo al cianuro” and other novels and short stories, this paper analyses the complex textual relations Chiara entertains with Pirandello’s Il fu Mattia Pascal. Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood (1987) veers from his favored detective-fiction genre by offering readers a 1960s coming-of-age romance, a story whose plot nonetheless spins around the protagonist seeking out his personal identity. The conflicts between Japanese tradition and modern, global perspectives are illustrated through the inclusion of popular culture elements such as music, literature and films. This thesis seeks to show how the novel's references to popular culture of the 1960s combine to help the protagonist establish an identity for himself as well as his place within the universal community. 一、寫作動機及內容

「當初我在設計學院出來時,滿腔熱誠,很有『火』,畢業後馬上找一份設計的工作。」我一位從事設計行業的朋友這樣對我說。

「但做了半年,就知道根本不是你心中所想的。」他又說:「設計,起初很喜歡,後來很討厭。處處受人掣肘,不是能夠發圍的行業。」

「當一切都不屬於自己的時候,就會覺得什麼都不在乎了。」最後他總結:「我現在已經完全麻目了,設計只是一份工作。我不需要掌聲,收貨就好。」

我聽著他的話,覺得非常悲哀,又可怕。我還沒有畢業,打工的經驗也少,未能完全了解他的感受。但我不斷地想:現實,究竟能將人的理想磨蝕到什麼樣的程度呢?它能夠把人的意志扭曲成什麼模樣呢?我想探究這些問題,於是寫了〈殺寇〉。

二、寫作目標

我想探討一個人的轉變。

與原作者直接對話,固然能直接了解他的心路歷程,然而,這樣的故事想必會流於單調乏味吧,於是我採用了雙故事線發展的模式:「我」除了與創作者交談外,更直接對創作者的作品加以描述。我採用「連載漫畫」作媒介;透過「連載漫畫」的劇情發展,可窺探創作者的心理變化。

New Qing Imperial History uses the Manchu summer capital of Chengde and associated architecture, art and ritual activity as the focus for an exploration of the importance of Inner Asia and Tibet to the Qing Empire (1636-1911). Well-known contributors argue that the Qing was not simply another Chinese dynasty, but was deeply engaged in Inner Asia not only militarily, but culturally, politically and ideologically.

1977 年的鄉土文學論戰,引發有關文學的作用及何謂「鄉土文學」等爭議。文學的作用,究竟是為了個人抑或是社會,一直有不少討論。黃春明的寫作,顯然是為了社會,他是台灣著名作家,以寫實的手法刻劃小人物真實、純真的一面。透過他一系列的作品,我們可以窺見台灣六七十年代的社會發展。

本文主要討論《青番公的故事》、《溺死一隻老貓》、《看海的日子》與《兒子的大玩偶》等作品,並探討其中小人物的形象。這些作品,都是黃春明的成名作,它們代表著黃春明熟練、樸實的寫作手法。

論文主要分四個部分,前言部分簡介黃春明。正文部分,分兩部分,第一部分,簡介何謂鄉土文學,及談談黃春明小說的主題;第二部分,詳細解說黃春明 筆下的小人物,面對社會的轉變,怎樣以頑強的生命力,解決那些問題。這部分可說是本文的重心。後語部分總結全文,及記述學者對黃春明的評價。

粵語流行曲拗音問題初探 : 以2000年-2004年粵語流行曲歌詞為例, Nga Ying Cheng

粵語流行曲在香港大行其道,深受普羅大眾歡迎。但是我們聽粵語流行曲,除了欣賞其旋律節奏外,還會留意流行曲的歌詞。歌詞是歌曲的靈魂,歌手和填詞人都能透過歌詞傳情達意。因此,歌詞的內容、意象和用詞都很重要。但若在表達歌詞意思時,沒有熟練的協音技巧,那麼聽眾就不知歌手唱什麼。聽眾既聽不清楚歌詞,更遑論享受歌詞的內容、意象和用詞了。因此,協音是最基本的填詞技巧。

但是,放眼本港粵語流行曲,拗音的例子俯拾皆是。這當然與粵音音調的 特殊性有關(九個聲調),也和粵語填詞的慣例(先曲後詞)有關,但這不應成為歌詞拗音的藉口。相反,填詞人應取長補短,無論在內容、意象、用詞和協音技巧上都應力臻完美。

由於拗音問題在粵語流行曲中仍十分普遍,因此本文特以 60 首近年(2000年-2004年)的粵語流行曲為探討對象,希望能引起填詞人及歌手對拗音問題的注意,從而提高粵語流行曲歌詞的質素,使粵語流行曲不只是一件商品,還是一件藝術品,這樣也有助推廣粵語正音。

透過本文,我們可得出以下結論:

第一,拗音多見於以下情況:旋律音階為「二O」,卻填上「OO」音高的字。

第二,填詞人可用彈性的協音技巧和上文下理來協音或減低拗音問題的嚴重性。但協音彈性原則不一定適用於任何情況,填詞人應按照實際情況來使用協音彈性原則。

第三,即使字音音高走向與旋律音階走向一致,沒有逆向,也不一定能協音。

第四,歌手的演繹亦有可能出現拗音問題,因此拗音問題不單是填詞人的責任。
