The story of "El Libertador", Simon Bolivar, greatest figure of South American history, may be pursued through seemingly endless sources of extant written material. The Bibliography of Simon Bolivar compiled by the library of the Pan-American Union is, in itself, an extensive volume; hundreds of his letters and documents have been preserved, and his biographers are numbered by scores.
