The 1938 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by J. L. Jenkins. The Women's Missionary Union observed its fiftieth anniversary. The Baptist Hospital report indicated that building expansion is needed to provide accommodations for more patients and equipment. The Committee on Our History recommends that the Association's executive committee should present a method for preserving the history of the Association at the next meeting.
