[2] pages, [6] leaves of "plates" : color illustrations in wooden crate. Title from laid in colophon. The book is housed in wooden crate, constructed to look like a shipping box for china or glass. The book consists of six round collagraphs, resembling the Italian ceramic dishes called "belle donne" or "coppe amatorie", which are inserted into two sets of paper tryptics made to resemble wooden cupboards. The text surrounding the collographs is cut from cardstock and glued to the surface to resemble the painted scrolls that were attached to the original dishes. paper produced by Cartiere Fedrigoni.
