Integrated Pricing And Seat Allowance For Airline Network Revenue Management, Baskar Mohan Jul 2005

Integrated Pricing And Seat Allowance For Airline Network Revenue Management, Baskar Mohan

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

The airline industry is facing unprecedented challenges in generating sufficient revenues to stay in business. Airlines must capture the greatest revenue yield from every flight by leaving no seats unsold and not over filling the cabin with discount fares. To succeed in doing the above airlines must be able to accurately forecast each of their market segments, manage product andprice availability to maximize revenue and react quickly to competitive changes in the market place. Thus seat inventory control and ticket pricing form the two major tools of revenue management. The focus of this paper is to consolidate the ideas of …

Auction Performance Evaluation In Deregulated Electricity Markets, Vishnuteja Nanduri Mar 2005

Auction Performance Evaluation In Deregulated Electricity Markets, Vishnuteja Nanduri

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

In a deregulated electricity market, auction serves as a primary pricing tool in various segments of the market including day-ahead, real time, ancillary services markets, and Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs) market. Deregulated power markets around the world use different auction strategies that exist in the literature, since very little comparative guidelines exist as to the relative merits of these strategies. In this thesis, a computational methodology and its solution framework are developed to evaluate the impact of an auction strategy on the equilibrium prices in a constrained network with multiple generators at nodes, and where transactions are settled using the …

Process Monitoring And Feedback Control Using Multiresolution Analysis And Machine Learning, Rajesh Ganesan Jan 2005

Process Monitoring And Feedback Control Using Multiresolution Analysis And Machine Learning, Rajesh Ganesan

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Online process monitoring and feedback control are two widely researched aspects that can impact the performance of a myriad of process applications. Semiconductor manufacturing is one such application that due to the ever increasing demands placed on its quality and speed holds tremendous potentials for further research and development in the areas of monitoring and control. One of the key areas of semiconductor manufacturing that has received significant attention among researchers and practitioners in recent years is the online sensor based monitoring and feedback control of its nanoscale wafer fabrication process.

Monitoring and feedback control strategies of nanomanufacturing processes often …
