Student paper titled “Spring House—Fort—Schoolhouse And Residence” in which Dona Morrison examines an unusual stone house located near Highway 31-E in Hodgenville, Kentucky. Morrison describes the materials used to construct the building and draws conclusions as to the purpose of each room throughout the the two-story residence. Information was collected from the two current owners, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Thompson, and Bernie Morris, former county clerk of LaRue County. Paper also includes severalblack and white photographs of the building.

Harpending, known for his financial exploits along the western coast of the United States, spent more than $65,000 to build the estate which featured more than 20 rooms, a swimming pool, gas heating, and indoor plumbing.
