The McCloughan Mansion is an Italianate-style house located in Annandale, New Jersey on five acres of land and includes two outbuildings, a small barn and a second dwelling. The mansion was constructed between 1860 and 1870 and is significant under Criterion C in the area of Architecture. The McCloughan Mansion is an excellent example of Italianate design executed in brick masonry that is uncommon in the architectural context of the town of Annandale. Furthermore, repetitive segmental-arched architectural elements distinguish the McCloughan Mansion from typical orthogonal implementations of Italianate design, and give this property an iconic identity.
