The study of park history serves as an important basis for assessing how rapid growth of cities affects the availability, management and use of parks over time. The data used for this study was collected from a variety of documentary sources including Parks Board records, old newspapers and archival records. The development of parks in the City of Vancouver has been approached from a multi-stakeholder perspective since the 19^th century.
