It is the intent of this proposal to redevelop a specific waterfront site, rejuvenating the area into one that people will want to be a part of, rather than shy away from. It will be through thorough exploration and experimentation of this special site condition (pier) that this will be achieved. It is intended that this proposal will develop a catalyst that willl generate further development along the zone of the water's edge. The intent of this thesis is to develop low-rise, high density urban housing which will provide its occupants with the basic amenities of light, air, and green space, while reconstructing and extending the fabric of New York City into an area of the East Village.
There exists in the East Village, as in other areas of Manhattan, an uneasy relationship between the low-scale rowhouses and tenements [...] and the monolithic architecture of the superblock housing developments of the 1950s. O desenvolvimento urbano de Quito apresenta, durante o último século, dois momentos cruciais: o primeiro, que vai desde a revolução liberal até o pós-guerra, caracterizado como um processo de transformações de notável envergadura e importância e o segundo, o único comparável em magnitude com o anterior, que se vive desde a modernização capitalista da década dos sessenta até hoje. Sem dúvida alguma, estes períodos deixaram profundas marcas no desenvolvimento posterior da cidade, a ponto de que o estudo e/ou planejamento de Quito atual e imediatamente futuro não podem desconhece-Ios sob nenhum pretexto.

A review is made of numerous insecticides to determine their suitability for use in Recent mammal collections. Factors determining their value were based on human safety, ability to protect specimens without adverse effects, and other considerations. The more favorable insecticides to use in mammal collections include Dowfume 75, sulfuryl fluoride. dimethyldiclorovinyl phosphate, paradichlorobenzene, carbon dioxide, and naphthalene. Insecticides that are considered less favor able because of many limitations included aldrin, dieldrin, arsenic, borax, mitin, ethylene oxide, methoxychlor, methyl bromide, and pyrethrum. There are some insecticides that should never be used because of extreme health and/or fire hazards. These include carbon …
