Architecture reflects not only the talents of those who design and construct buildings; it also serves as a historical record. A building reflects the romantic notions of the period while looking to the future and revealing a promise of progress. An archaeological investigation was performed during the spring and summer of 2000 at the Worden House Site (20W A341), located in the Historic District of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan. As part of a multi-disciplinary approach to historic preservation, background research and fieldwork proved the existence of prehistoric and historic archaeological remains on-site that can contribute to the understanding of regional prehistory and history.
