This field project examines the social construction of autistic people of color through the pathology paradigm and the associated human rights violations. The purpose of the project is to disrupt the pathology paradigm by privileging voices of autistic people of color in professional development workshops for ABA therapy providers. The workshops aim to help ABA therapy providers understand the historical context of ABA, how it fits into the wider systems of white supremacy and ableism, and how these dynamics are re-enacted in every day practice with autistic people of color.

Researching ethical decision-making, within an educational setting, shed light on the importance of how each decision may influence an individual leader across generations. “A leader’s system of values, or deeply held beliefs, is the ethical framework from which a leader develops a vision, defines and shapes the change process and takes action to make his or her vision a reality” (Vogel, 2012, p. 1). This dissertation is a qualitative study that explores how first-generation college students experienced their educational journey in a private four-year institution of higher education. Using data from in depth interviews with 19 first generation college students from three private four year institutions, this study looked at how participants made sense of race, class, gender, and Socioeconomic Status (SES) as it intersects with their first-generation status as part of their lived experience within a private educational setting. My personal experience as a White educator in racially diverse classrooms led me to choose my capstone topic and develop my research question: “What core knowledge, essential skills, and experiences do White teachers believe have effectively prepared them to teach racially diverse students?” Based on my literature review, I chose five concepts and theories that I considered connected to my research capstone. Critical Race Theory was the overarching theory that provided related concepts of Racial Realism, Critical White Studies, and Colorblindness. The literature presented in the following pages explores the shortcomings of the American public education system in the context of creating long-term, sustainable social change. Using financial illiteracy and its relationship to low quality of life as an entry point, the first section exposes public schools’ shortcomings as agents of social change by delving into the hardships endured by the original public school promoters of the 19^th century, the pitfalls of President George W. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1. เพื่อศึกษาและนำเสนอบทเพลงในสไตล์ต่างๆ ที่ใช้ในวิชาปฏิบัติกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าระดับปริญญาตรี 2. เพื่อศึกษาอัตลักษณ์ของบทเพลงในสไตล์ต่างๆ และศึกษาวิธีการเปลี่ยนสไตล์บทเพลง งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) มีขั้นตอนดังนี้ 1) วิเคราะห์รวบรวมสาระดนตรีที่ใช้สอนกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าในระดับอุดมศึกษา 2) วิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบดนตรีของบทเพลงในสไตล์ต่างๆ จากตำราสอนกีตาร์และบทเพลงที่คัดสรร 3) ตรวจสอบความถูกต้องโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าในสไตล์ต่างๆ 12 คน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญเป็นเครื่องมือวิจัยเกี่ยวกับองค์ประกอบดนตรีของแต่ละสไตล์ จากนั้นวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลของบทเพลงกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าในสไตล์ต่างๆ จำแนกตามองค์ประกอบดนตรี ผลการวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ตอนได้แก่ ตอนที่ 1 ผลการศึกษาและนำเสนอชุดบทเพลงที่ใช้สอนในวิชาปฏิบัติกีตาร์ไฟฟ้าระดับปริญญาตรีในบทเพลงสไตล์บลูส์ 30 เพลง คันทรี่ 30 เพลง ร็อค 40 เพลง และฟังก์กับโซล 30 เพลง โดยวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบดนตรี 4 ด้าน 1) จังหวะวิเคราะห์ ความเร็ว (tempo) อัตราจังหวะ (Time signature) และรูปแบบจังหวะ 2) ทำนองวิเคราะห์การใช้บันใดเสียงและโมด 3) เสียงประสานวิเคราะห์ลักษณะการใช้ทางเดินคอร์ด 4) สีสันของเสียงวิเคราะห์การใช้เทคนิคและการใช้ประเภทของเสียงกีตาร์ เอฟเฟค ซึ่งรายละเอียดดนตรีในแต่ละสไตล์มีความแตกต่างกัน ตอนที่ 2 ผลของวิธีการเปลี่ยนสไตล์บทเพลงที่ได้จากการวิเคราะห์ในตอนที่ 1 นำมาสรุปสิ่งที่เป็นอัตลักษณ์ของดนตรีแต่ละสไตล์เพื่อใช้ในการเปลี่ยนสไตล์บทเพลง และนำเสนอตัวอย่างการเปลี่ยนสไตล์บทเพลงที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น 5 บทเพลง
