Adolescent girls worldwide are subject to various forms of violence, such as corporal punishment and sexual abuse inflicted by family members, caregivers, and school violence. Girls are particularly vulnerable to gender-based violence, including sexual violence, exploitation, abuse, forced marriage, and human trafficking. While there is evidence that violence can be prevented, high rates of violence persist, and girls require empowerment and honor-based strategies to reclaim their power. Violence can have severe physical, psychological, and social consequences, making it crucial to address the issue. In this paper, we propose the HONOR framework. This paper shares initial findings from an ongoing study assessing the value and limitations of a two-year community-engaged design thinking initiative intended to foster more inclusive and holistic public health community-based innovations with underserved communities across one county in the southeast U.S. The initiative hopes to institutionalize and socialize community-based design within a public health framework and build organizational and individual capacities. Initial findings indicate that participants find value in design thinking tools and processes, and that such processes have transformed mental models, fostered relationships, and built skills for participants' professional, civic, and personal lives. The University of Wyoming is the only four year higher education institution in the state, a unique position amongst colleges and universities in the United States. Given this unusual status it is especially important that the university libraries use their resources to identify and partner with communities around the state to build collections that preserve their cultural heritage. An Archive-It subscription was purchased in 2016, with an initial goal of capturing university related materials. The International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) is a community that develops shared application programming interfaces (APIs), or technical standards, for interoperability between digital image repositories. The IIIF specifications aim to give scholars an unprecedented level of uniform and rich access to image-based resources hosted around the world, with partners from national and state libraries, research institutions, museums, archives, software firms, and other groups working with digital image repositories and resources. Foreign‐language journals are an essential component of interdisciplinary area studies collections at research libraries but are, by definition, low‐use materials. Librarians who select them seek to broaden these collections, reduce duplication, and enable shared access to them. The challenge is lack of article‐level discoverability: these are print‐only journals, not covered in online indexing/abstracting services. If users cannot discover these articles, then how can cooperating libraries share them, and distribute responsibility for collecting them, which is essential to coordinated collection development?

As part of a larger study aiming at understanding and improving interactive reader experiences through a study of news production team dynamics, as a complex, multi-faceted endeavour, this paper looks at the key factors affecting in-house visual journalists’ view of news production and their ability to think aesthetically. A number of impacts influenced by new technologies will be explored, followed by discussion on the rationale and development of news production processes that proposes a range of challenges for creative workers. I intend to show how these movements call for a radical reconsideration of new thinking about news web site visualization.

The British Virginia project involves a collaboration between Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Libraries and faculty members in the departments of English and History at VCU, with the project led by Dr. Joshua Eckhardt (English). As of April 25, 2013, the project has published its first title: an online edition of a sermon preached to the Virginia Company by William Symonds. To ensure the success of this project, a number of details required careful planning, including library outreach, IT involvement, and digital publishing protocols.
