Governors State University announced today that, after a national search, it will invite five candidates to its campus in January to interview for the presidency of the university. Current president Stuart Fagan announced several months ago that he will step down from the office on June 30, 2007.

Governors State University recently announced that senior Loni Grosz has been selected the 2007 Student Lincoln Laureate from GSU.

“This is an honor reserved for the undergraduate who attains both the highest academic level and who contributes positively to the community,” said Dr. Sherilyn Poole, Interim Dean for Student Co-curricular Activities and Services. “Loni is a perfect choice based on her excellent academic standing and her service to children as an elementary school teacher.”

The award, sponsored by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois, is an annual honor reserved for the top senior from each of the state’s public and private …

Governors State University Announces Formation Of The University College, Office Of Public Affairs

Governors State University recently announced the formation of the University College. The University College is comprised of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, the School of Extended Learning as well as the Division of Digital Learning and Media Design.

The new college offers a specialized Bachelor of Arts degree, provides distance learning courses, and lends media design support to the university’s academic units.
