Depression is more widespread than many people understand. Depression is a common mental disorder involving millions of people from all backgrounds, races, and socioeconomic levels (World Health Organization [WHO], 2020). Depression not only affects one’s mental well-being but can be often linked to one’s physical well-being. Additionally, depression is often misdiagnosed and can many times go undetected.
