"A model for predicting the transients associated with energizing ungrounded wye-connected station capacitor banks was developed. The model has the capability of simulating non-simultaneous operation of the breaker poles, pre-insertion resistors, and the presence of previously energized capacitor banks at the same station. To investigate various system representations, a computer solution of the transient response of an arbitrary network and the computer solution of the generalized Thevenin impedance of a complex network are presented.
