The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes of principals of selected Catholic secondary schools toward aspects of teacher empowerment. The Attitudes Toward Teacher Empowerment Survey was developed to measure attitudes toward empowering teachers in certain decision areas and to examine attitudes about the effects of teacher empowerment; The instrument was reviewed by two separate expert panels and sent, in final form, to 201 secondary school principals in the western region of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of selected marketing elements by higher education institutions enrolling 5,000 or more students by headcount. Selected marketing elements were determined by a content analysis of marketing textbooks which yielded 20 such elements: product, price, strategy, market, promotion, research, mix, analysis, advertising, target, competition, segment, service, information, demand, forecasting, place, purchase, image, and demographics. These elements became the basis for a survey instrument designed specifically for this project. Preservice Education: Exploring Alternative Methods Of Instruction, Advisement, And Field-Based Supervision, Kimberly J Paulsen

Three studies were conducted to investigate the use of alternative methods to provide instruction, advisement, and field-based supervision to preservice special education practicum students. Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a Resource Room Practicum course participated. The studies took place over a 16-week semester period; Sixty-seven students from the course participated in Study 1. This study involved the use of three instructional methods to provide instruction to the students (i.e., broadcast classroom, receiving ITV classroom, videotape lectures). Students' achievement, attendance, satisfaction, and evaluation of the instructor were analyzed. Results of this study indicated: (a) achievement was equal, (b) students attended …

In the past, Reality Therapy seminars and workshops were presented by professionals who were skilled in their field, but had only limited training in adult education, including curriculum and instruction. By utilizing materials and information received in the U.N.L.V. graduate Post Secondary Education program in conjunction with Dr. William Glasser's Quality School concepts, the Reality Therapy training can be redesigned to deliver more effective education. There will be an extensive review of information from the graduate program, Dr. Glasser's books and articles, plus the resources of the U.N.L.V. library.
