The purpose of this study is to analyze the two series of reports for the 1948-49 from forty-one member high schools of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools in the state of New Mexico and to present such conclusions and recommendations for the programs of those schools as warranted by the data presented. The reports upon which this study is based include (1) Special Report on Criterion I (Form A-3) to the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, and (2) Annual General Report on Criteria (Form A-2, 1948-49).

The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to ascertain with what degree of accuracy pupils of junior and senior level in a selected high school are able to estimate quantitative measurements; and (2) to determine whether or not the ability to make accurate estimates is related to such factors as mental ability, computational ability, or the amount of formal mathematics taken in high school.

The purpose of this study is to discover information which may contribute to a better understanding of the value of application photographs for prospective teaching positions. Specifically, this study is concerned with the following aspects: (1) the extent to which superintendents of schools use photographs in teacher selection; (2) the influence in which three physical characteristics, namely, size, contrast, and expression, may have upon teacher selection; and (3) the value which the superintendent of schools places on the photograph as an instrument of teacher selection.

A total of 710 opinions have been written concerning the public schools and education since the first report of the attorney-general in 1898.
