The IDEAL program at Georgia State University is an inclusive postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The purpose of this capstone project is to create a peer mentor training guide to ensure consistent training and competence of peer mentors in providing social, academic, and employment support. The goal is to provide comprehensive peer mentor training reflecting best practice standards, so students receive high-quality support in the inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) program. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using real-life problems to improve novice counsellors' critical analytical thinking in humanistic counselling courses. The research method uses an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used is a critical-analytical thinking scale. The research sample used a purposive sampling technique, which consisted of 84 students of the 2018 Guidance and Counseling UNY Study Program who took the Humanistic Counseling course. Eleganaboi was a traditional ceremony in Luro society which contained essential elements of local wisdom. This study aimed to investigating the values of guidance and counseling in Eleganaboi. To investigate the values of guidance and counseling, we use phenomenology qualitative descriptive method. To collect the data, we implemented observation and interview. The observations were carried out during a cultural ceremony in the Luro community. Furthermore, interview was conducted on four traditional leaders. Little research has explored the field of science instruction tailored to students with significant disabilities. However, research studies have begun to emerge that suggest, with specific instructional strategies, these students can be successful in learning science curriculum. This project evaluated literature to find evidence-based instructional strategies for teaching science to students with significant cognitive disabilities. Six strategies were consistently found across multiple studies. The six strategies include (1) time delay, (2) systematic instruction, (3) multiple exemplar training, (4) task analysis, (5) graphic organizers, and (6) guided inquiry-based learning. Multiperson activity schedules capitalize on the benefits of independent activity schedules, a commonly used visual support for individuals with disabilities. Activity schedules minimize the need for adult prompting and increase independence with complex tasks by breaking them down into pictures, written words, or videos. Multiperson schedules allow pairs and small groups of individuals with disabilities to work together with minimal adult involvement to accomplish a task. This systematic review aims to inform researchers and other interested persons regarding the use of multiperson activity schedules to aid in decision-making and support implementation. Since many educators receive little-to-no formal training in evidence-based classroom management strategies, it may be helpful to train general education teachers in strategies that direct them to the underlying causes of problem behavior. The purpose of this quantitative, causal-comparative study was to determine if simulation training causes a significant increase in clinical self-efficacy in Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists. Simulation training in healthcare has been found to improve patient safety and has become a major tenet of nurse anesthetist education. Self-efficacy has been shown to correlate with improved clinical performance. This study builds on the research involving simulation training and clinical self-efficacy in the SRNA population. Status offenses are behaviors that are not crimes but are prohibited by the law due to an individual’s status as a minor. If these behaviors were committed by an adult, they would not be deemed illegal. Examples include truancy, running away, and curfew violations. Research shows that girls, especially girls-of-color, are more likely to be adjudicated as status offenders. Status offenses result in youth being involved within the juvenile justice system. When employers hire people with disabilities, collective behavioral change occurs in organizations. Specifically, attitudes toward people with disabilities improve through professional interventions and encourage organizational citizenship behavior. Previous studies have demonstrated the economic and client-focused effect of hiring people with disabilities, resulting in a tested model of competitive, integrated employment. In this study, we find that a performance-based behavioral change occurs in non-disabled employees when organizations employ best practices in relation to people with disabilities in the workplace. Work Readiness And Job Satisfaction Of Youth With Intellectual Disabilities Participating In A Supported Employment Program, Hannah Branch

A summer supported employment program was provided by a vocational rehabilitation agency to prepare transition-aged youth with intellectual disabilities for the workforce. This study examined the views of youth with intellectual disabilities on their pre-post-program work readiness and job satisfaction using survey methodology. Although youth seemed satisfied with their jobs, they reported no significant change in their perceived job readiness, and their job coaches also reported similar perceptions.

As a summer program, the duration may not have been adequate to increase youth’s views of their work readiness. For summer supported employment programs, obtaining youth participant insight and feedback, although sometimes …

In the 2020 U.S. Census, 33.8 million individuals reported multiracial identities, which increased since 2010 from nine million (US Census, 2020). Despite the substantial growth in multiracial individuals, there remains a dearth of understanding regarding the unique challenges and determining factors shaping their identity. U.S. military veterans transitioning back into the civilian sector often experience a variety of challenges and need to readjust into non-military environments. In order to examine the psychological challenges involved in the transition and readjustment processes among U. S. active military veterans, a qualitative study was conducted. For 6 months, data was collected from veterans in California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, and New York. OBJECTIVE: In this article, we share insights emerging from case studies conducted across seven companies.We illustrate the motives, processes, and outcomes of these initiatives. METHODS: This study is built on the previously published case studies conducted across seven companies. We applied elements of consensual qualitative research (CQR) for the data collection and analyses before performing an in-depth qualitative content analysis using the data coded for each company, looking for commonalities and differences. RESULTS: Although practices differed, all companies experienced noted benefits. Committed leadership and complementary company values facilitated successful outcomes for initiatives. The Class Of 2019: Academic Employment Prospects For Counselor Education Doctoral Graduates, Christopher Lawrence, Gregory Hatchett

The purpose of this investigation was to estimate the percentage of counselor education doctoral (CED) program graduates who attained faculty positions within two years of graduation and to compare the number of these graduates to the number of advertised faculty positions during this same timeframe. To do so, we used archival, publicly available data for graduates of CACREP-accredited CED programs during the 2018-2019 academic cycle (N = 314). Approximately two-fifths of these graduates had faculty positions. Graduation from a public university increased the odds of having any faculty post, whereas graduation from a public university and the Carnegie Classification of …
