The Global Mindset Of Accounting Educators - A National Study, Jill Christopher, Danielle Foster, Chao Wen, Perry Haan
The Global Mindset Of Accounting Educators - A National Study, Jill Christopher, Danielle Foster, Chao Wen, Perry Haan
The North American Accounting Studies
There is a mandate for business educators to cultivate Global Mindset in their students. In the accounting discipline, employers explicitly state that they seek job candidates who demonstrate a Global Mindset. To many educators in the U.S., developing Global Mindset in their students is a bewildering challenge because their own Global Mindset may be weak in some aspects, and widely used accounting textbooks fall short in presenting ideological, socio-political, and cultural perspectives alternative to that of Anglo-American capitalism. This study surveyed accounting educators from U.S. institutions to evaluate their Global Mindset, identify common weaknesses in their Global Mindset, and provide …

The Relationship Between Young Adult Attachment And Loneliness Factors With Their Childhood Social Media Usage Patterns, Kenneth Walter Mark
The Relationship Between Young Adult Attachment And Loneliness Factors With Their Childhood Social Media Usage Patterns, Kenneth Walter Mark
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Social media use has become an integral and often ignored part of children’s lives because it is rationalized not to be detrimental to their future development. However, childhood social media use was associated with insecure attachment styles and possible loneliness issues emerging in young adulthood. Past research examined social media use and secular attachment in the present only, without examining spiritual attachment or loneliness levels. This is the first research study to explore longitudinally the relationship between past childhood social media use and current young adult (aged 18-24) secular attachment, spiritual attachment, and loneliness levels. The population (N = 149) …

Devops: Course Development, James Lee Vanderzouwen
Culminating Experience Projects
DevOps has become somewhat of a buzzword amongst software engineers in the industry. Often developers do not have a dedicated DevOps engineer let alone a DevOps team. Developers benefit when they know what happens between ‘works on my machine’ and production. Making sure those steps make sense and are safe benefits the operations team. From compliance to code review to regression testing, understanding the full SDLC, employing DevOps concepts, and minimizing overhead from dependencies is quickly becoming a pre-requisite for the modern software engineer. This project attempts to bridge the gap between buzzword and best practice by developing a college-level …

Complex morphological traits are the product of many genes with transient or lasting developmental effects that interact in anatomical context. Mouse models are a key resource for disentangling such effects, because they offer myriad tools for manipulating the genome in a controlled environment. Unfortunately, phenotypic data are often obtained using laboratory-specific protocols, resulting in self-contained datasets that are difficult to relate to one another for larger scale analyses. To enable meta-analyses of morphological variation, particularly in the craniofacial complex and brain, we created MusMorph, a database of standardized mouse morphology data spanning numerous genotypes and developmental stages, including E10.5, E11.5, …

Context-Specific Conceptualizations Of Death In Early Childhood, Spencer Hart Winter
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
Despite cultural myths and social taboos, young children are capable of understanding death and death concepts. Previous research has demonstrated that children have a varied and complex understanding of death that is influenced by their age, family culture, and previous experience. This study aims to differentiate children’s death concept depending on context, including children’s magical thinking, namely the difference between the deaths of a human, an animal, and an electronic toy. Using a modified version of the Death Concept Questionnaire, preschool-aged (3 to 5 years old) children (n=7) were presented with short video clips of a human, a dog, and …

Site Development Feasibility Study, Andy A. Tenekjian
Construction Management
A feasibility study in the world of construction is deemed as a preliminary due diligence process in which key components of a project are addressed to determine if the project is viable or not. These components are related to time and money, and the end goal of a feasibility study is to determine if the initial investment of time and money is worth the amount of future financial return. What deems a project successful in the preliminary stage is up for interpretation. Each developer and investor have their own return on investment threshold in a multi-family project like the one …

Synaptic Development In Diverse Olfactory Neuron Classes Uses Distinct Temporal And Activity-Related Programs, Michael A. Aimino, Alison T. Depew, Lucas Restrepo, Timothy J. Mosca
Farber Institute for Neuroscience Faculty Papers
Developing neurons must meet core molecular, cellular, and temporal requirements to ensure the correct formation of synapses, resulting in functional circuits. However, because of the vast diversity in neuronal class and function, it is unclear whether or not all neurons use the same organizational mechanisms to form synaptic connections and achieve functional and morphologic maturation. Moreover, it remains unknown whether neurons united in a common goal and comprising the same sensory circuit develop on similar timescales and use identical molecular approaches to ensure the formation of the correct number of synapses. To begin to answer these questions, we took advantage …

Moroccan Nationals Abroad and Investment in Real Estate: Development or Under-development? -The Case of Agadir-
Since the 1920, many authors have tried to study the movements of populations. But it is only from the 1960s that we can speak of scientific research on migration. At the beginning, the emphasis was placed on Moroccan emigration abroad, because it represented for rural societies one of the most effective means of resisting the effects of the socio-spatial destruction disseminated by cities and their actors. (G. SIMON, 1983). Today, the city is gradually and closely linked to the migratory phenomenon both upstream and downstream: …

Childhood Adversities And The Impact On Development, Karey Womack Dulaney
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Experiences in life are crucial in determining how one’s development will progress throughout their lifespan, with many of the factors occurring in early childhood. The factors include but are not limited to adversities experienced at an early age, toxic stress, and childhood trauma. Childhood adversities can impact a child’s cognitive development and biological systems. Children living in adverse situations are at a greater risk of not reaching their full developmental potential in life. Although previous research and literature discuss and demonstrate the cruciality of early childhood interventions to mitigate adverse childhood experiences, gaps in the research exist for individual interventions, …

Language Development And Disorders, Sudhin Karuppali Dr.
Health collection
The field of language development and its disorders is a widely researched area in the field of speech-language pathology. However, language development in the Indian population is vaguely studied, probably because of the diversity of languages and cultures in this country. This has time and again resulted in difficulties in estimating the language levels of children with language impairments, consequently becoming challenging to prepare customized interventional plans. The lack of standardized language assessment tools has always been a concern in clinical practice. This lacuna in establishing accurate language levels has been observed in the adolescent population as well, which is …
