Researching Technological Advancements Through Alternative Methods Of Music Education To Engage Students In The Digital Age, Olivia Thornton Thompson
Masters Theses
While the music industry has significantly incorporated technology into music composition and production, music education is slow to teach how to use these technical methods for students living in the digital age. Current music education methods have established successful results in past music compositions; however, those methods are becoming impractical. Although music education taught in schools has been primarily successful through traditional methods, students learning in the digital age have yet to learn how to strengthen their musical abilities through technology. This secondary analysis aims to look at the different studies on incorporating technology in a music education setting to …

Beyond The Corporate Responsibility To Respect Human Rights In The Dawn Of A Metaverse, Kuzi Charamba
University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review
Technological advances in the 21st century pose new threats to human rights from business activities. In this new technological age, individuals and communities engage through an increasing myriad of digital means and platforms, all facilitated by a smaller, more powerful set of global BigTech companies, such as Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Meta (formerly known as Facebook). In so doing, however, our lives as workers, consumers, and citizens become subject to increasing corporate control through surveillance capitalism and algorithmic governance. With the dawn of metaverses—3D immersive digital environments in which you can interact with others via avatars and through virtual and …
Amplifying Their Voices: Equity And Assistive Technology For Children With Disabilities, Rosemary Queenan
Amplifying Their Voices: Equity And Assistive Technology For Children With Disabilities, Rosemary Queenan
Dickinson Law Review (2017-Present)
Assistive technology devices are crucial to the educational development of children who suffer from hearing loss. For some hearing-impaired children, access to hearing aids is vital to their ability to acquire language, develop speech, and socialize. Yet many hard of hearing children are unable to acquire hearing aids because most insurance policies do not cover them. Access to assistive technology devices for hard of hearing individuals has been the subject of long-standing controversy. The law recognizes the benefits of assistive technology devices and includes them within the scope of services school districts may be required to provide in order to …

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Projects
Abstract
This paper describes a DNP project that was designed to address the issue of rural mental telehealth implementation barriers. One of the main barriers to rural telehealth programs has been a technical infrastructure incapable of adequately hosting the telehealth programs. Low-Earth orbit (LEO) internet technology has emerged as a way to solve the rural telehealth conundrum by offering an improved rural technical infrastructure. An integrated review was completed based on the following PICOT question: In rural providers, how does an educational outreach compared to no educational outreach affect provider adoption of new technologies? The evidence showed educational sessions as …

Perceptions Of Rural School Superintendents Around Leading Ongoing Technology Initiatives, Randal A. Bergquist
Dissertations, Theses, and Projects
Technology initiatives in public schools have been an important topic of discussion as educators work on implementing various strategies to enhance student achievement/success. The improvement in technology, both hardware and software, along with wider areas of internet coverage, has allowed educators to think about implementation of technology into schools. Many school districts across the United States have already implemented technology initiatives, such as one-to-one, for students in all grades and levels. The increased pressure on school administrators to improve student achievement/success has resulted in research that comes short of ongoing technology initiatives, especially in the rural schools. This research study …

Inside The Box: A Case Study Of How Spatial Rhetoric In High School Computer Science Curricula Inhibited The Acquisition Of Technology Competence, Bernadette A. Mc Adam
English Dissertations
More rhetorical skills are now required to navigate critically and productively in technological spaces; that means that one must possess a specific type of literacy, called technology competence, which enables one to understand the evolution of technology, the nature and design of technology, and its rhetorical effects on people and society. Initially envisioned as a multi-case study across school districts, this project changed to a single case study pilot project because the COVID-19 pandemic restricted access to classrooms in multiple school districts for observations, thus significantly reducing the sample size in the data set. Through a mixed methods case study …

International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice
We all are consumers by birth and remain consumers till death, and at the same time, it is also true that a consumer becomes the victim of exploitation in different ways. Adulterations, underweight, duplicate or cloned goods, and misleading and insufficient information are some ways of victimizing consumers. Today, we are standing at a juncture where we have a series of legislative, judicial, and administrative efforts to protect consumers. On the other hand, we have a plethora of incidents of exploitation of consumers. The nature of the legislation available for the protection of consumers is not purely criminal but sometimes …

Student Theses
Many people get scared when they hear about how much technology runs the world today. They tend to get frightened when they go to a store and have to use a selfcheckout instead of a cashier. Parents are scared of the dangers of the internet and how it will affect their children, so they tend to try to prevent/limit their children’s usage of the internet and other technologies. However, that may not always be the right move. Technology can not be avoided; it is a part of our everyday lives. With proper guidance and teachings, children can learn how to …

The affirmation of identity as a leitmotif throughout art history has become increasingly concerned with the conflation of the real and constructed, the material and immaterial, as technological developments engineer the fabric of reality with heightened sophistication. In the age of lifelike, digital avatar influencers such as Lil Miquela, Ai-Da, billed as “the world’s first ultra-realistic robot artist,” algorithms developed to create The Next Rembrandt, and the rise of crypto art and non-fungible tokens (NFT’s), the ambiguity or removal of the hand of the artist prompts questions surrounding identity as a visualization of the data that follows us and is …

The content derived in this paper portrays the effect that technology has on safety and how it may be enhanced and altered in the built environment. Ensuring safety on the jobsite is the most important aspect of concluding a successful project. Alongside safety on the jobsite is technology, both of which work coherently together to ensure proper construction. Technology has advanced tremendously in the built environment and it is difficult for all aspects of the project to be up to date universally. Safety lacks the technological integration that is found in the design and preconstruction phases of a project. There …

In the age of climate change, the Indian writer Amitav Ghosh asks whether humanity is prepared for the unthinkable nature of climate events. The Earth’s climate is changing faster than humans can expect and adapt. Ghosh warns that modern people are too deranged to imagine in what forms of changes are approaching. His term, derangement, suggests that humans are no longer able to imagine the future world shaped by climate change. The signals of the unexpectable realities of climate change, however, may be hidden in existing knowledge. Here, technology can help us access this hidden knowledge through its ability to …
