The Impact Of Rfid Technology On Warehouse Process Innovation: A Pilot Project In The Tpl Industry, Samuel Fosso Wamba, Akemi Chatfield

Dr Akemi Chatfield

Using the value chain model which provides a process view, this longitudinal case study and simulation modeling analysis of a Canadian third-party logistics (TPL) supply chain provides some empirical support for the enabling role of RFID technology in effecting warehouse process innovation and optimization for the focal TPL firm. However, the findings of our study also reveal the RFID technology implementation costs as the key inhibitor of RFID widespread adoption and usage among suppliers. This, in turn, precluded the focal TPL firm from implementing the best optimum RFID solution to create better business value from the RFID project.

End user acceptance and satisfaction with a new IT innovation is the pre-requisite for the successful introduction of this IT solutino into an organization. More than 70 per cent of health IT projects have failed to a certain extent because of its failure to satisfy the functional or non-functional requirements of the end users and thus were not accepted by them. To date, there is no sound evidence to suggest that clinical IT solutions will bring in benefits for a residential aged care facility. This is a real concern for aged care management in investment in clinical IT solutions in …

The data were collected from interviews with principals and a rural superintendent and from an examination of the School Innovation Plans. Data were refined into common themes, and a rich narrative was created. The conclusions indicated that successful principals …

The paper will first describe the basic concept, and then proceed to give a sample framework before proceeding to describe the extensibility. The method allows firms and individuals to …

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer And A Four-Year-Old: Lessons For Leadership & Life, Connie Reimers-Hild

Connie I Reimers-Hild, PhD, CPC

Last week while I was in the shower, my four-year-old daughter, Raquel, walked into the bathroom and asked me an interesting question. “Mom, why doesn’t anyone like Rudolph’s shiny red nose?” My daughter was supposed to be in bed sleeping. I am 99% sure she was lying in bed reflecting on her day.

Many nights I have quietly checked on her before going to bed myself only to find her talking to herself while she makes vivid hand gestures and motions. On this particular evening, her talk and gestures must have focused on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. After thinking about …
