As a new generation of African leaders is emerging, so is the need to create appropriate and effective leadership paradigms for personal and organizational development. Servant leadership and cultural intelligence are essential pillars for identifying, developing and sustaining value-based leadership practices. Drawing from the Service Leadership model that emerged from the Depaul Leadership Project (DLP); this article outlines the competencies, orientations, methods and strategies for establishing effective and culturally intelligent sustainable leadership development programs.
