We have measured the transverse asymmetry AT' in 3He (e,e') quasielastic scattering in Hall A at Jefferson Laboratory with high precision for Q2 values from 0.1 to 0.6(GeV/c)2. The neutron magnetic form factor GnM was extracted based on Faddeev calculations for Q2=0.1 and 0.2(GeV/c)2 with an experimental uncertainty of less than 2%.

Precise, Highly Female-Biased Sex Ratios In A Social Spider, Leticia Avilés, John Mccormack, Asher Cutter, Todd Bukowski
John E. McCormack
It has been recognized for some time that the risk of producing maleless clutches should select for a lower than binomial variance in the sex ratio of organisms with female–biased sex ratios, small clutches and breeding groups containing the clutch of a single female. However, to date, precise sex ratios have only been reported for organisms with haplodiploid sex determination, a system which allows direct control of the sex of individual offspring. In contrast, under heterogametic sex determination chance is expected to play a crucial role in determining the sex composition of any one family, in particular when males are …

The ratio of the proton's elastic electromagnetic form factors, G Ep / G Mp, was obtained by measuring Pt and Pl, the transverse and the longitudinal recoil proton polarization, respectively. For elastic ep→ep, G Ep / G Mp is proportional to Pt / Pl. Simultaneous measurement of Pt and Pl in a polarimeter provides good control of the systematic uncertainty. The results for the ratio G Ep / G Mp show a systematic decrease as Q2 increases from 0.5 to 3.5GeV2, indicating for the first time a definite difference in the spatial distribution of charge …

Ec00-279 Synchronizing Esetrus In Beef Cattle, Richard J. Rasby, Gene H. Deutscher
Ec00-279 Synchronizing Esetrus In Beef Cattle, Richard J. Rasby, Gene H. Deutscher
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
Synchronization of estrus (heat) involves manipulating the estrous cycle of beef females in a herd so they can be bred at approximately the same time. There are several traditional protocols available for synchronizing estrus among beef females.
This extension circular discusses the programs and protocols used in synchronizing estrus in the beef cow.

Ec00-281 Body Condition Scoring Beef Cows: A Tool For Managing The Nutrition Program For Beef Herds, Richard J. Rasby, James A. Gosey, Don C. Adams
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
Body condition scores (BCS) describe the relative fatness of a cow through the use of a nine-point scale and is an effective management tool to evaluate nutrition status of the herd.
This extension circular describes the nine-point body condition scoring system, relationship between body condition and productivity of the cow herd, and use of body condition as a management tool to develop and monitor nutritional programs. Incorporation of body condition scoring as a management tool can increase the profit potential of the cow/calf enterprise.

G646 Sphaeropsis Tip Blight Of Pines, Loren J. Giesler
G646 Sphaeropsis Tip Blight Of Pines, Loren J. Giesler
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
The symptoms and identification, disease cycle and control of Sphaeropsis tip blight.
Browning and death of tips is quite common in older, well-established pine plantings. Such damage is often due to Sphaeropsis tip blight, a fungal disease caused by Sphaeropsis sapinea (syn. Diplodia pinea). Infection kills major branches and may even kill the entire tree under severe disease pressure.
Sphaeropsis sapinea can infect young trees, but the disease becomes increasingly more common and destructive as trees approach 30 years of age. Tip blight commonly occurs in landscape, windbreak and park plantings; but is seldom found in natural pine stands. …
