Estimating Particle Sizes, Concentrations, And Total Mass Of Ash In Volcanic Clouds Using Weather Radar, David M. Harris, William I. Rose

Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences Publications

Observations of the March 19, 1982 ash eruption of Mount St. Helens, made by the National Weather Service (NWS, Portland, Oregon) on 5-cm radar, were used to estimate the volume of the ash cloud (2000 ±500 km3), the concentration of ash (0.2–0.6 g m−3). and the total mass of ash erupted (3–10×1011 g). Vcu Today (1983-12-14) Dec 1983

Vcu Today (1983-12-14)

VCU Today, 1972-1988

VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.

Waiving The Physician-Patient Privilege In Involuntary Commitment Proceedings In Washington—In Re R., 97 Wn. 2d 182, 641 P.2d 704 (1982), Brett T. Delange

Washington Law Review

In analyzing the court's decision in In re R., this Note will first review the physician-patient privilege. Next, it will assess the court's analysis and application of the statutory waiver in section 71.05.250 of the Washington Revised Code to hearings for ninety-day commitment. This Note concludes that while the court correctly applied the statutory waiver to hearings for ninety-day commitment, the court's standard of reasonableness in applying the waiver of the privilege in this case was improper. Because the physician-patient privilege is a valuable tool in encouraging patients to seek therapeutic treatment, this Note recommends that the courts require a …
