A Study Of The Influence Of Iodide Released During Development On The Course Of Development, Barry Britton Jun 1972

A Study Of The Influence Of Iodide Released During Development On The Course Of Development, Barry Britton

Theses

The Influence of iodide released during development on the course of development was Investigated by transferring known amounts of iodide to Kodak Panatomic X Film and Eastman Fine Grain Release Positive Film (Cine Positive) after exposure and before development. Iodide was transferred to the films being tested by soaking dry Bimat web material in potassium iodide solutions and contacting this to the film for fifteen minutes. The transfer of iodide in the Bimat to the film being tested was found to be essentially complete. The iodide reacted with the grains to convert silver bromide to silver iodide. The silver iodide …

A Photomicrographic Method For The Detection Of Oxygen Content In The Hemoglobin Of The Red Blood Cell, Bruce Martin Levine, Craig Sager Jan 1972

A Photomicrographic Method For The Detection Of Oxygen Content In The Hemoglobin Of The Red Blood Cell, Bruce Martin Levine, Craig Sager

Theses

Previous attempts at photographing the hemoglobin in the red blood cells have been confined to the making of two separate images of the same blood sample; one image is recorded using a wavelength band in the isobestic point region of the spectral distribution of oxygenated and reduced blood, and the other image is made using a wavelength band of radiation in the area of greatest difference in absorption between the two blood states. The method described here attempts to obtain a measurement of oxygenation by means of only one exposure using both regions of wavelengths simultaneously. The response is the …

A Study Of The Kinetics Of "Lith" Development, David Turbide, Michael Williams Jan 1972

A Study Of The Kinetics Of "Lith" Development, David Turbide, Michael Williams

Theses

A kinetic infrared scanning densitometer was used to study lithographic development in real-time. The instrument proved very effective after several slight improvements to increase sensitivity and obtain Density vs Time of Development curves directly- It was noted that this apparatus could also be used lot a study of the penetration of solutions into an emulsion. An exposure series on a normal Kodalith system indicates a decrease in induction time and an increase in maximum rate (up to diffusion limit) with increasing exposure. A series of sulfite concentrations shows that the lith effect becomes detectable only below a sulfite concentration of …
