An Explorational Study Of Educational Leaders' Attitudes, Opinions, Understanding, And Application Of Student Growth Percentile (Sgp) Data, J Lyn Turnell
Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership Dissertations
Student Growth Percentiles have recently become popular as a way to report student progress over time. Because of the perception that they are relatively simple to understand, they have also become a popular tool to use when evaluating teachers and school-based administrators, even though this is not the purpose of their design. Previous studies have examined the impact of student growth measures on teachers who are evaluated annually with a tool that includes a component of student growth. This study builds on the previous work of Clauser, Keller, and McDermott (2016) and Collins (2014). It examines the actions and opinions …
Measuring The Efficiency Of The Living Kidney Donor Candidate Evaluation Process, Steven Habbous
Measuring The Efficiency Of The Living Kidney Donor Candidate Evaluation Process, Steven Habbous

However, the living donor evaluation process has been criticized by patients and healthcare providers as inefficient. In the present research, we evaluated the inefficiency of the living donor evaluation process.
Methods: We conducted a scoping review of the literature and obtained data from large administrative datasets (1256 living donors) and medical chart review (849 prospectively recruited living donors across 12 transplant centres plus retrospective analysis of 1065 living donor candidates from a single centre).
Results: The median time to complete the entire evaluation was 9-11 months …
A Microscopic Simulation Laboratory For Evaluation Of Off-Street Parking Systems, Yun Yuan
A Microscopic Simulation Laboratory For Evaluation Of Off-Street Parking Systems, Yun Yuan
Theses and Dissertations
The parking industry produces an enormous amount of data every day that, properly analyzed, will change the way the industry operates. The collected data form patterns that, in most cases, would allow parking operators and property owners to better understand how to maximize revenue and decrease operating expenses and support the decisions such as how to set specific parking policies (e.g. electrical charging only parking space) to achieve the sustainable and eco-friendly parking.
However, there lacks an intelligent tool to assess the layout design and operational performance of parking lots to reduce the externalities and increase the revenue. To address …

CAPS programs endeavor to facilitate student-centered partnerships between business and public education to produce personalized learning experiences for students centered around the completion of real-world industry projects.
To ensure successful educational programs, leaders must consider more than simple outcome data or statistical descriptions of the program’s reliability and validity. Successful leaders of schools must also determine the program’s value from the perspective of the stakeholders it purports to serve—that is, by its social validity. Understanding what consumers of education …
Creating Conditions For A Collaborative Relationship Between Principals And Their Supervisors: A Change Initiative, Noah Riley
Dissertations
ABSTRACT
Studies by Kelley and Peterson (2002), Drago-Severson, Blum-DeStefano & Asghar (2013) and other researchers, have shown that in order for principals and other building leaders to be able to demonstrate the required expectations of “new” principal standards, they must engage in ongoing supervision, evaluation, coaching, and continuous career-long professional development. These studies also suggest that school districts, in their support and development of principals’ growth in competency capacity building, are more effective when the principal supervisor works in collaboration with principals they supervise/evaluate in a trusting, mutually respectful relationship of shared accountability for improving instruction and learning. This change …

Evaluation Of Clinical Growth And Nursing Student Motivation In The Traditional Clinical Learning Environment, Jessica Barkimer
Evaluation Of Clinical Growth And Nursing Student Motivation In The Traditional Clinical Learning Environment, Jessica Barkimer
Dissertations (1934 -)
Evaluation of students in the traditional clinical learning environment is difficult. There remains a lack of standard guidelines to evaluate students using valid and reliable instruments as well as inconsistent processes with lack of interrater reliability standards between educators. A need exists for fair and consistent evaluation of nursing students. When the clinical educator uses a standard evaluation process and understands students’ motivation for learning, adaptations in teaching strategies and education on self-regulatory strategies can be implemented to enhance learning and measure clinical growth. This research study used a prospective, correlational, pre-test/post-test design to examine the relationship between student motivation …
Researcher & Evaluator Perceptions On The Adherence-Adaptation Debate In Fidelity Of Implementation, Kristen Juskiewicz
Researcher & Evaluator Perceptions On The Adherence-Adaptation Debate In Fidelity Of Implementation, Kristen Juskiewicz
Doctoral Dissertations
Fidelity of implementation (FoI) should be measured to understand why or how interventions and programs work; although, this well-intentioned maxim has been riddled with debate and division (Century, Rudnick, & Freeman, 2010; Dane & Schneider, 1998; Mowbray, Holter, Teague, & Bybee, 2003; Ruiz-Primo, 2006). One such debate is the role of adherence and adaptation in FoI. Using Century & Cassata’s (2016) conceptualization of the adherence-adaptation debate, I hypothesized three profiles representing researcher and evaluator beliefs about the role of adherence and adaptation in FoI: pro-adherence, pro-adaptation, and productive adaptation.
A newly-developed Fidelity Agreement Measure (FAM) profiled underlying researcher and evaluator …

To mitigate problems that development practitioners, evaluation managers, funders, and evaluators might face when considering how to plan and implement impact evaluations, there is a need for increased clarity around these issues. The primary purpose of this research was to build upon the results of a group concept mapping (GCM) study conducted at the International Labour Organization to examine two related, but separate issues: (1) what are the perceptions of evaluators and international development practitioners with regards to elements of organizational impact evaluation capacity? and (2) how do the responses of a larger group of evaluators and development practitioners either …
Caring Matters: Creating A Holistic Bsn Program And Evaluating Caring In Nursing, Erin Magnuson
Caring Matters: Creating A Holistic Bsn Program And Evaluating Caring In Nursing, Erin Magnuson
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Caring is foundational to professional nursing practice and is defined by Simone Roach (2002) as “the locus of all attributes used to describe nursing”. In an increasingly complex healthcare environment, the delivery of nursing care that is centered on caring is fading. Nurse educators are called to address this issue by developing a curriculum that places equal importance on caring and competence in nursing. While creating a curriculum centered on caring, educators must also develop methods to evaluate caring. Within a newly designed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with holistic foundations, rubrics were created to evaluate caring and …

Resampling Methods And Visualization Tools For Computer Performance Comparisons In The Presence Of Performance Variation, Samuel Oridge Irving
Resampling Methods And Visualization Tools For Computer Performance Comparisons In The Presence Of Performance Variation, Samuel Oridge Irving
LSU Master's Theses
Performance variability, stemming from non-deterministic hardware and software behaviors or deterministic behaviors such as measurement bias, is a well-known phenomenon of computer systems which increases the difficulty of comparing computer performance metrics and is slated to become even more of a concern as interest in Big Data Analytics increases. Conventional methods use various measures (such as geometric mean) to quantify the performance of different benchmarks to compare computers without considering this variability which may lead to wrong conclusions. In this paper, we propose three resampling methods for performance evaluation and comparison: a randomization test for a general performance comparison between …
