The purpose of this project was to develop agricultural communication lesson plans for Elk Grove High School’s Agricultural Leadership class. The lesson plans were created after the research of the existing California Agricultural Education and Agricultural Leadership Curriculum standards. The lesson plans were then based off of the FFA Agricultural Communications Career Development Event (CDE) guidelines in order to grasp many of the important details of the CDE. Student involvement on college campuses is important for the professional growth, leadership development and learning of today's college student. This research sought to determine the factors that influence former high school FFA members' reasons for joining and participating in the Collegiate FFA.

The study showed that students who are involved in the National FFA at the secondary level are more likely to join Collegiate FFA while attending a university that offers the Collegiate FFA option. The purpose of this project was to develop a judging guide for FFA members who participate in Livestock Judging Contests. One of the classes to be judged is Boer goat market wethers. Resources from breeders, industry judges, and handouts were utilized. The PowerPoint that was created can be used as a tool for students to learn the basics of market goat judging. This can also be a useful guide for students who are interested in selecting market goats as a supervised agricultural experience project.

This internship/project report includes validation documents required in meeting the quality criteria for secondary-level programs of instruction in agriculture. The documents are concurrently used for the Nevada Career and Technical Education Grant review process at Churchill County High School conducted by representatives of the Nevada Department of Education. The internship included the development of a comprehensive program plan for Churchill County High School. The plan includes information to receive state/local funding, outline the goals and objectives of the program, along with an overview of Churchill County High School, the agriculture program and community.

The purpose of this project was to develop a promotional video about Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs in a high school agriculture program. It was created to show the importance of SAE’s and the benefits students can gain from having an SAE. In order to capture a wide array of opinions the project includes interviews both from agriculture teachers and students to diversify the importance of having SAE’s in an agriculture program. The video shows how both students and teachers benefit from having SAE’s and why they are so crucial to a successful high school agriculture program.
